The List for Friday, June 24th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Carrie Underwood tells Billboard magazine that she’s just recently gotten into gardening. ” The past few years, I plan it, think about it, work in there. I’m literally in my garden every single day. Right now, I have lots of tomatoes, bell peppers, snap peas, broccoli, onions, zucchini, yellow squash, watermelon, honeydew melon — a lot of things.” Wow not even kidding!!! That’s a serious garden….

‘Thor: Love and Thunder” director Taika Waititi tells CBS that he shows Chris Hemsworth’s bare backside in the movie. If you’ve seen the trailer there is a scene where Thor loses his clothing and a pixilated panel is placed over his backside…well, Taika says.. “In the movie, it’s not pixelated, you get the full Hems’ Worth. The full worthiness! With Chris, he’s worked so hard on that. It’s so many squats! It’d be depriving humanity if I didn’t show that. The movie is out on July 8th

Keith Urban is fantastic on stage and in the studio.  He tells American Songwriter.com that he has ONE person to thank for that… Johnny Cash.  Saying he saw Johnny Cash in concert when he was five years old and that’s all it took.  He wanted people to react to HIM the way they did to Johnny….

Austin Butler, who plays Elvis in the new biopic about The King, says he wore fake chest hair in the film. The hair was fastened to a bodysuit that he wore while playing an aging Elvis. Variety magazine says Austin underwent 90 costume changes while playing Elvis. The film opens today

Who say THIS coming…Jimmie Allen has an addiction…to BOWLING!! He got addicted during the pandemic.  How bad is it? He practiced eight hours a day, five days a week . . . and now he’s in five different bowling leagues, and plans to try out for the Professional Bowlers Association. So how does he do this while maintaining a singing career, and being married with three kids?  Quote, “I only sleep about three-and-a-half hours a night.  If I get two, I feel like I’ve slept.”  (Jimmie’s third album, “Tulip Drive”, is out today.)

The List for Thursday, March 26th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Hookup shows come and go. Paychecks apparently stay forever. Taylor Frankie Paul will still get her full Bachelorette salary. TMZ says the payday lands in the low to mid six figures. The season got shelved after that viral domestic violence video resurfaced. Reality TV motto. Love fades. Direct deposit survives.

-----

Some guys jog. Some guys apparently brawl with neighbors. “Reacher” star Alan Ritchson reportedly got into a physical altercation. Sources say intense behavior is kind of his brand at this point. He doesn’t think he crossed a line. Neither does the authorities,

-----

Country star meets horsepower. This feels aggressively on brand. Darius Rucker is now a NASCAR Cup Series team owner. He invested in Legacy Motor Club which competes at the top level. From singing about wagons to literally owning fast cars. That is what we call career acceleration.

-----

If you like free music. Nashville just planned your summer. CMA Fest announced around 150 artists for daytime stages. Names include Ernest, Melissa Etheridge, Tucker Wetmore, more. The free shows run June fourth through seventh downtown. Wallet stays full. Voice will absolutely not.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
