The List for Friday, August 27th 2021

Welcome to The List,

Jameson Rodgers hit ‘Cold Beer Calling My Name’ continues to do well and climbing the charts…How did this song come about? “We wrote this song actually two or three years ago. It took us like three sessions to finish it. We just wanted to write a little fun, upbeat kind of song and here we are two or three years later and it’s my single at radio.”  Sometime if you wanna get it right…it takes time…

Tim McGraw talked to Esquire magazine about getting sober in 2008, and he credits his wife Faith Hill for helping him commit to that decision.  Saying”When your wife tells you it’s gone too far, that’s a big wake-up call. so, now, he’s replaced drinking with exercise…He does his ‘meet and greets’ then he and the band go for a 4 or 5 mile run…then straight into the dressing room and then the stage. He says it’s all timed out.

The Daily Mail says thieves recently stole Tom Cruise’s luggage. They took his bodyguard’s $150,000 BMW from outside of his hotel. A source tells the newspaper, “Tom had been driven around in the car while in Birmingham and some of his luggage and belongings were inside it when it was taken. How does a BODYGAURD afford a $150,000 BMW!!!

The List for Thursday, February 5th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Rumors are flying that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have allegedly set a wedding date. A so-called source says the planning is “military-level precise,” which tracks, because Taylor hates surprises and Travis runs NFL playbooks for a living. Pop music, professional football, and Hollywood elite all in one room. Locked down, protected, unforgettable. Basically the most intense group project ever attempted.

-----

Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison is launching a new dating show for people who want a “traditional, marriage-minded partnership built on commitment and shared values.” Which apparently is now considered edgy programming. Somewhere, reality TV just gasped. This is not roses and drama. This is compatibility and emotional maturity.

-----

Before Luke Combs made it big, he had $200 left in his bank account. That money went toward mastering one song, “Hurricane.” He releases it, sells about 10,000 copies the first week, and uses the cash to finish the rest of the album. Then pitches it to labels. And that, kids, is how you bet on yourself and win.

-----

Toby Keith, Kenny Rogers, and Ed Harris are being inducted into the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The ceremony happens in April in Oklahoma City. They’re joining legends like George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Kurt Russell, and Burt Reynolds. That is a hall with serious swagger. Cowboy hats optional. Legends required.

Catch The List, with Jonathan Knight weekday afternoon at 4:20. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
