The List for Monday, April 21st 2025

Welcome to The List,

Morgan Wallen just dropped the tracklist for his new album I'm the Problem—and surprise! He wrote 22 of the 37 songs. Yup, thirty-seven. Man’s working harder than a coffee machine on Monday! He’s got his first-ever collab with a woman—Tate McRae—and some familiar voices like Post Malone, Eric Church, Hardy, and Ernest. It’s already breaking records before it's out May 16th, and his tour kicks off June 20th in Houston. This thing’s about to explode like a beer can in a bonfire!

-----

Aaron Rodgers says football’s not the only drama in his playbook—he’s got personal issues stealing the spotlight. On The Pat McAfee Show, he spilled that life’s been “interesting” since the Jets said buh-bye in February. These days, he’s lifting weights, soul-searching, and spooning with his dog, Apollo. As for retirement? He’s not ruling it out, saying, “I’m open to anything, attached to nothing.” Translation: he might throw one more pass... or start doing yoga in the woods with Shailene again.

-----

The Daily Mail says Johnny Depp might be swash bucklin’ his way back into that eyeliner and rum breath as Captain Jack Sparrow in a brand-new Pirates of the Caribbean flick! Disney’s reportedly close to sealing the deal—yeah, even with all the past drama. Word is, the script’s done and this is a full-on reboot. Translation? More Jack. More chaos. And probably way more guyliner.

-----

Brooks & Dunn will be honored the night before the 60th ACM Awards during the "Play Something Country" gala.  Eric Church . . . Cody Johnson . . . Megan Moroney . . . Keith Urban . . . and Lainey Wilson will all be on-hand performing renditions of Brooks & Dunn's biggest hits.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight.  Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Friday, April 18th 2025

Welcome to The List,

Jennifer Aniston’s dating life is stuck on pause. Allegedly, the guys think she’s a snooze fest. A source says she’s great for a first date, but by date two, it’s “same martini bar or just Netflix at home.” Basically, she’s stuck in first gear. But hey—at least she’s not insane… at least we don’t think she is.

-----

Skinny is the new swole—for teen boys?! Yep, the NY Post says guys are now chasing that Timothée Chalamet toothpick look. Parents say kids are skipping meals and using calorie-tracking apps to get that lean, artsy vibe. So, goodbye protein shakes—hello black coffee and brooding.

-----

Jelly Roll just made “American Idol” history as the show’s first-ever artist-in-residence. And he’s already getting misty-eyed! Contestant Jamal Roberts crushed Jelly’s own song, “Liar,” so hard, Jelly said, “It’s not even my song anymore—it’s Jamal’s.” Lionel, Carrie, and Luke all agreed: that boy’s got chops!

 -----

Garth Brooks has reportedly packed on 40 pounds— not from the tour bus snacks, but from stress-eating over his upcoming harassment trial. A source says the whispers are keeping him up at night, and his midnight snacks are clocking overtime. Now it’s less “Friends in Low Places” and more “Snacks in All Spaces.”

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa's BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Thursday, April 17th 2025

Welcome to The List,

So, apparently Killer Klowns from Outer Space is getting a remake over at Amazon—and wait for it—Ryan Gosling is one of the producers. Yeah, Mr. “Hey Girl” is bringing back creepy alien clowns who cocoon people in cotton candy. Because sure, why not? If Barbie can break the box office, killer clowns can absolutely ruin your childhood sleepovers all over again.

-----

Bryan Adams has been LYING to us since 1985! That whole “got my first real six-string at the five and dime”? LIES! Turns out he got it from a music shop while visiting his uncle at age 12. Oh, and he was only NINE in the Summer of ’69. So basically the entire anthem of our teenage rebellion is one big Canadian fairy tale. Cool, Bryan. Next you'll tell us “Heaven” was about a parking ticket.

-----

Morgan Wallen just shut down the rumor mill like a bouncer at closing time. Everyone thought his first-ever female collab was gonna be with Megan Moroney, Ella Langley, or Miranda Lambert. But Morgan just said, “Ain’t nobody guessed it right yet.” So either it's someone totally unexpected… or he’s just trolling us from the mullet throne.

-----

Thomas Rhett pulled a real-life “Achy Breaky Ankle” at Bridgestone Arena—dude took a tumble down some stairs while joining Forrest Frank on stage. But like a true country legend, he kept performing in pain... then rolled out in a wheelchair with his wife pushing him like it was NASCAR pit lane. Turns out it’s just a sprain, and yes—he did make a joke about it on Instagram, because of course he did…

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Wednesday, April 16th 2025

Welcome to The List,

Sheryl Crow and LeAnn Rimes are crashing “The Voice” as mega mentors! Sheryl’s teaming up with Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé’s crews, while LeAnn Rimes is riding shotgun with John Legend and Adam Levine’s artists. The playoff rounds kick off April 28th, and honestly—if those singers don’t cry at least once during mentoring, did they even get mentored?

-----

Post Malone is doubling—nah, tripling—down on country! After “F-1 Trillion” blew up, he hit Nashville twice more and cranked out 35 new songs. He’s hangin’ with Ernest, Hardy, and Thomas Rhett like it’s a honky-tonk slumber party. And no, his next album is NOT called “F-1 Quadrillion”… but how ICONIC would that be? Posty hits the road with Jelly Roll April 29th, and yes—it’s the Big [Butt] Tour. We said what we said.

-----

Word is Carrie Underwood’s being too sweet on “American Idol.” One insider says, “She’s just not bringing the drama.” Apparently, the other judges are over her “pity party” vibes—and yes, Miley Cyrus was Plan A. But hey, when you want fire and settle for fairy dust, you get nicey-nice Carrie. Great for church… not so great for ratings.

-----

Lainey Wilson’s gettin’ hitched! Wedding plans are movin’ slow, but they’re movin’. When asked if she wants a huge, celeb-stacked bash or a quiet, cozy “I do”—she said, “It’s gonna be small.” Which is wild, considering her career’s anything but. A low-key queen planning a low-key wedding? We’re here for it.
