The List for Wednesday, February 23rd 2022

Welcome to The List,

Yesterday on The List, we reported The country artist’s Sam Hunt’s pregnant wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, filed for divorce…we have more information today. As it turns out they’re NOT splitting up – at least, not right now…because…well she withdrew her divorce complaint hours after she filed it on Friday PEOPLE confirmed late Tuesday night.  The news outlet noted that Fowler reportedly asked for the petition to be “voluntarily nonsuited without prejudice,” which allows her to file for divorce again in the future. Fowler wanted primary custody and child support, and requested “transitional alimony, rehabilitative alimony, and alimony in future,” according to the since-withdrawn filings.

Cody Johnson was asked even though he didn’t WRITE his hit ‘Till You Can’t’ was there one lyric or portion of the song that hit home for him that really made him want to do this song. “I think it was the whole message. I’ve lost a friend this year,  we had a plane almost crash. A private plane we were flying to a NASCAR event,  We’re not guaranteed the next minute. When you think about that, when you think about every day like that…it’s till YOU can’t.  It’s till YOU can’t get up and do those things, it’s not till THEY can’t. It’s seas the day!”

-----

Channing Tatum is making "Magic Mike 3" and has a couple goals while doing it. “The first goal is I want to make the Super Bowl of stripper movies. Just to leave it all out there, I want to do it all so there never needs to be another stripper movie ever again.  Second I wanted a really strong equal female roll.” So it looks like Mike Lane is tapping back in…no release date has been announced yet but Magic Mike 3:The Last Dance will premiere exclusively on HBO Max.

-----

We heard plenty of stories about how AARON RODGERS and SHAILENE WOODLEY had broken up.  But they were all based on anonymous "sources", and we never heard anything official. Now a new Instagram post by Aaron is muddying the waters.  It's all about gratitude . . . and it includes a picture of him snuggling with Shailene.  In the caption, he thanks several people, including her. So, like his future with the Packers It looks like THIS is going to be a mystery for a bit as well.

February Pack the Backpack Winner: Mr. Quentin Moen

Pack the Backpack, presented by Central Office Supply, a division of Minuteman and Kix 101.1! Each month during the school year, we will be awarding $101 to a Kix Country classroom to help out with supplies. We will award the prize on the last Wednesday of the month. You can listen to each new winner at 8:30a on the Morning Kix Start.

Our February winner is 4th Grade Teacher at GMG Elementary, Quentin Moen. He was nominated by Kyle Hall. Here is what he wrote to Kix 101.1.:

Good morning!

I want to nominate Mr. Quentin Moen for the pack the backpack. Mr. Moen is a 4th grade teacher at GMG Elementary. He has previously taught before but being a 1st year/new teacher at a school has challenges in itself. Mr. Moen's challenges were amplified by the fact that he actually took over the classroom roughly 6 weeks into the school year after another teacher left. My daughter, Brynnlee, was very nervous when she heard she was about to have her first "boy teacher" but she has loved every minute since he became her classes teacher. He is very attentive with the kids, breaks things down when they don't understand and overall has made learning fun for my daughter and her fellow students. He is often incentivizing the kids with prizes for a job well done and I am sure this could help with those prizes or anything else he needs as he continues to get his classroom set up!

Go Wolverines!

Thank you for the consideration,

Kyle Hall

Take a listen to our surprise interview with Mr. Moen below!

Nominate your Kix Country class by submitting a letter to us at backpack@kixweb.com.

The List for Tuesday, February 22nd 2022

Welcome to The List,

After creating his publishing company ‘Verse 2’ Kane Brown was eager to get his first writer on board so they could get busy writing hits.  THAT writer was Levon Gray and there first collaboration turned out a top 5 hit for Kane and Levon “One Mississippi” "This song is about a relationship. I don’t know everybody’s had where you make up and you break up and you just keep running into each other and then something about that spark in the relationship gets y’all back together and may fall apart again, but he tried it twice at least."

You may have heard by now but OK! magazine reports Sam Hunt's pregnant wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, is divorcing him. She accuses him of adultery. Her divorce papers read: "The husband is guilty of such cruel and inhuman treatment or conduct toward the spouse as renders cohabitation unsafe or improper." Hannah is due to have her baby in May. MAN! And he thought ‘Breaking Up In The 90’s’ was hard…well, I guess his ‘Kinfolks’ will have to ‘Leave The Night On’ for the ‘House Party’…. Yeah, there’s no high road here from me….

-----

MORGAN WALLEN's "Sand in My Boots" is the Number One song in country radio, and he's kinda happy about it.  He hit up Instagram to thank the best fans in the world.  That's you.  And, the brilliant people who play the song.  That's me.  "Thank you to country radio for jumping aboard with this song and for making it possible for a lot of people to hear, some who wouldn't have heard it otherwise.  I just wanted to say thank you guys, it means a lot to me."

-----

Looks like we are now at that point in time where VHS tapes are considered ancient relics that sell for tens of thousands of dollars.  A first print of 1984's "The Terminator" sold for $32,500 at a Comic Connect online auction. The tape was in ALMOST perfect condition . . . it received a 9 out of 10 for its preservation and a 7 out of 10 for the tape's corners and edges. An executive at Comic Connect said the tape sold in three days, adding that there's been an increase in VHS purchases over the past few years.

The List for Monday, February 21st 2022

Welcome to The List,

Kelly Clarkson wants to legally change her name and filed paperwork in a Los Angeles County court to do just that, using her middle name versus her sur name so ‘Kelly Brianne’.  The reason?  She says, “It more fully reflects who I am” A hearing on the matter is scheduled for March 28th.  The petition comes amid a bitter divorce battle between HER and Brandon Blackstock. After nearly seven years of marriage….

-----

Today is Presidents day… Brad Paisley’s has a favorite President and it would have to be Abe Lincoln  “Abraham Lincoln for me is the great emancipator, and what amazing guy he was. I also liked Truman. I think Truman was a really good example of a President that was underappreciated, he had the hardest decision of all…and seemed to be from all accounts, a pretty good guy too.”

-----

ALEC BALDWIN swears he didn't pull the trigger on the gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie "Rust".  And now there might be evidence to back him up. Santa Fe District Attorney did some "unofficial" testing of the gun in question.  And said, quote, "You can pull the hammer back without actually pulling the trigger and without actually locking it and then if you let it go, the firing pin can hit the primer of the bullet." An FBI analysis of the weapon is still pending. Still doesn’t answer WHY the gun was out of it’s holster were it was placed…AND not pointed in a safe direction…

-----

Someone did some pretty impressive research to determine just how hefty Norm's bar tab would have been on the TV show "Cheers".  It was estimated Norm drank 10 beers a day… both the average price of beer over the years AND several clues from the show about how much a beer cost at Cheers at various times brought the final tally to $124,406.90. without tip….

----

JON PARDI has been working on his next album, which will be out later this year.  What can we expect?  At least one love song, a few "she's leaving and we're moving on songs" . . . and "definitely a lot of drinking songs." And sad news to report, MIRANDA LAMBERT is mourning the loss of her longtime guitarist and very good friend, Scotty Wray.  He passed away on Friday after battling heart issues.  Scotty is also the brother of Collin Raye
