UC Berkeley is offering a class on Nicki Minaj.  It's called "Nicki Minaj: The Black Barbie Femmecee & Hip-Hop Feminisms", and it'll study Nicki's, quote, "impact in the context of broader historical-social structures & hip-hop feminisms." Meanwhile trade schools are like…hey! Wanna job?!

“American Songwriter" made a list of the Top 10 Outlaw Country songs.  The top three are "Mama Tried" by Merle Haggard, "Long-Haired Country Boy" by Charlie Daniels, and "Whiskey River" by Willie Nelson.

The Tennessean is reporting that Loretta Lynn was laid to rest on Friday morning in her family's cemetery at her ranch in Tennessee.  Before she passed, she left instructions for her services.  She had a private ceremony with around 100 people.  A public memorial is being planned that fans will be invited to.

Morgan Wallen updated his Instagram bio on Friday.  It says "Born with a Beer in My Hand".  So it could be a new song, or a new album, but either way new music is on the way…..

Movies can make anything look awesome.  But movies LIE.  A few examples of things that always look fun in the movies, even though they're NOT in real life: Laying on grass:  Anyone allergic?  It's itchy and theirs bugs….Riding a motorcycle without a helmet, eye protection or jacket:  The wind sucks and so does bugs hitting your face. And exploring haunted houses or sketchy places:  Where are the criminals or cops? And those PESKY KIDS…..

The first trailer for "Super Mario Brothers" dropped yesterday, and Chris Pratt plays the character without an accent.  The movie also stars Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong.  The movie comes out April 7th .

Ashley McBryde is the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.  Garth Brooks surprised her yesterday on "CBS Mornings" with an invite.  She accepted and said it would be a great honor of her life. Garth told her, quote, "It's the longest living family in music history.  You belong in it.  We need you.  You'll make it stronger for decades to come."

Darius Rucker is joining the cast of Reba McEntire's new ABC show ''Big Sky: Deadly Trails''. He is going to play a ''hired gun who works at night like his nocturnal namesake, Possum.”

Jelly Roll has goals..He tells Music Mayhem magazine that he plans on being in the Country Music Hall Of Fame one day. “I've always wanted to do country music. This is Nashville to me. I'm all about being a local kid. I'm big about the local causes. I support efforts inside of the community. When it's all said and done, I want to be in the Country Music Hall of Fame."

The Daily Star says Tom Cruise's upcoming space movie may see him do a spacewalk. Universal Pictures chairman Dame Langley says, “We have a great project in development with Tom that does have him taking a rocket to the Space Station. And hopefully he’ll become the first civilian to do a space walk outside. He will play a down-on-his-luck guy who finds himself in the position of being the only person who could save Earth.” Yeah, that sounds like a Tom Cruise movie….Mission Impossible 7 his next movie is in theaters July 14th of next year.

Kenny Chesney and Old Dominion shared what life looks like on the road.  They included tour and behind-the-scenes footage in their new video for "Beer with My Friends".  Kenny said, quote, "If every picture is a million words, then every cut of this clip is a whole movie!  Every shot means something to us."

The producers of "Rust", including Alec Baldwin, have settled the wrongful death lawsuit filed by the husband of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.  Filming will resume in January, but criminal charges could still be filed against Alec Baldwin.

Trace Adkins plays a country singer on "Monarch", but the similarities end there.  After all, it's a TV show.  Still, somebody asked how much of Trace is in the character. Trace said "The only similarity between myself and Albie . . . we do the same thing for a living.  "I leave the set every day going, 'Thank God I don't have to deal with the stuff that man has to deal with.'  Because I would put somebody in a sleeper hold every day." A man that has a lot of daughters, I can see where he’s coming from.

Who would you think is the most sought after actor in Hollywood? According to Christian Bale it’s Leonardo DiCaprio.  He gets offered roles first . . . and everyone around their age owes their careers to Leo for passing on whatever project he didn't want.  He says He doesn't take it personally though.  Adding he can't do what Leo does, nor would he want the amount of attention Leo gets.

Hardy had to scrap two upcoming tour dates because of the tour bus crash he was in on Sunday.  He and three other people were hurt.  He posted a video on Instagram and said he'll be okay, but his bus driver isn't out of the woods yet.

Lainey Wilson is being recognized as the Breakout Artist of the Year at the "CMT Artists of the Year" ceremony.  It airs Friday the 14th at 9:00 p.m. Eastern on CMT.  She's the fifth artist to earn the award. Lainey follows Mickey Guyton, Ashley McBryde, Kelsea Ballerini, and Chris Stapleton in receiving this honor

If you’ve been following the drama that is Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady lately, well Page Six dropped a bombshell just yesterday reporting the couple BOTH have apparently hired divorce attorneys……"I never actually thought this argument would be the end of them, but it looks like it is,” one source told Page Six. "I don’t think there will be any coming back now.  It all is centering around his retirement…. With Sports commentator Scott Gulbransen having a great response, tweeting "Maybe this qualifies as a Brady... fumble?"

Cody Johnson turned down an offer to be on "1883" because his schedule was already booked up.  But he's still holding out hope for creator Taylor Sheridan to put him on "Yellowstone" someday.  After all, his song "Dear Rodeo" was in Season 4.

The JoBlo movie website says a new documentary about the making of Michael Jackson's Thriller album is in the works. No word on a release date..

The Hollywood reporter is saying Elon Musk will go through with his $14-Billion acquisition of Twitter.  According to SEC filing, Musk’s team sent a letter to Twitter Monday saying that the Tesla CEO intends to “proceed to closing of the transaction contemplated by the April 25th, 2022 Merger Agreement. Twitter responded Tuesday saying it also intends to proceed with the sale..behind the scenes Twitter employees are losing their minds.

The Daily Mirror says Kelly Osbourne has revealed that she is having a baby boy. She says her father, Ozzy, broke the news.  "he’s told everyone before I ever got the chance to. But I will say, every single day he does this little song and this little dance about how excited he is. Ozzy is just so excited that it's a boy. It's his first grandson so he's "planning all of these things.

Tributes for Loretta Lynn continue to pour in from Hollywood to Nashville and everywhere in between.  A few facts about Loretta Lynn's remarkable life:  She grew up so poor, her mom used newspapers as wallpaper.  She claimed she was married at 13, not 15 like some sources say.  And a few of her songs got banned from the radio, including "The Pill" in 1975 because it was about contraception. It still hit #5 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles charts.

Welcome to The List,

Will Smith's new movie "Emancipation" will hit theaters on December 2nd . . . making it eligible for next year's Oscars. Even if Will gets nominated, he can't be there.  He's serving a 10-year ban for slapping Chris Rock at this year's ceremony. "Emancipation" is based on the true story of a runaway slave who escapes to the North and joins the Union Army.

"House of the Dragon" fans are up in arms over Episode 7 because scenes were so dark they could barely tell what was going on. Some viewers called the episode "unwatchable" . . . and one even claimed it was, quote, "literally a whole episode of black screen." Well, HBO has responded to a fan saying quote, "We appreciate you reaching out about a night scene in House of the Dragon: Episode 7 appearing dark on your screen.  The dimmed lighting of this scene was an intentional creative decision.  Thanks!"

There's still no word on Coolio's cause of death.  But sources close to him say he had severe asthma, and that may have been a contributing factor. Apparently, he struggled with asthma over the years and traveled with several inhalers to keep it in check.  He would even use them onstage sometimes.  Coolio died in the bathroom of a friend's house in L.A. last Wednesday.  The friend had to break down the door to get to him.  When paramedics arrived, they worked on Coolio for 45 minutes before pronouncing him dead. Coolio was 59.

Some have cats…some have dogs…some have Bison??  Chase Rice has…Bison!!  CMT's "Hot 20" visited his Nashville farm . . . and when he opened a bag of feed, his herd of bison came trotting in for lunch. He said, quote, "During quarantine I had all this land, but I didn't have any of the fencing.  I thought about cattle.  Didn't really want to do that.  I love bison.  I love the west.  [These] are my pets.  It's weird.  I get that.  But they're awesome."

Reba McEntire's "Live in Concert" tour kicks off October 13th, but she's already announcing dates for next year.  She'll pick it up March 9th in Jacksonville, Florida and take it into mid-April.  Terri Clark and The Isaacs are the openers.

Lastly…Country music icon Loretta Lynn has died, her publicist confirms. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 4. Her family has asked for privacy as they grieve. Details regarding a memorial service will be forthcoming in a public announcement.  Her death comes just days after she celebrated her 60th anniversary as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. . Loretta Lynn was 90 years old.
