Garth Brooks is 61, so no one expects him to be glued to social media, or even good at it.  But someone at WhiskeyRiff.com was surprised to see how few people Garth follows online . Last we checked, he was only following 63 people total on Instagram and X…A few are people you'd expect, like his wife Trisha Yearwood,  Dolly Parton, Blake Shelton, and Carrie Underwood . . . But, It includes people you wouldn't expect, like Chris Pratt, Ashton Kutcher, Pitbull, and Cher and some guy named “The Garth Fan”!

-----

The 1978 Christopher Reeves “Superman” was almost played by Dirty Harry himself…Clint Eastwood… Entertainment Tonight says He rejected the role because he wanted to play a Marvel superhero named Namor the Sub-Mariner.  Saying Clint had ALL those comics.

-----

In the midst of the sizzling debate over America’s southeast vs. southwest burger joints, one question burns like a World On Fire: In-N-Out or Whataburger? Surprising no one, California native, Nate Smith has emphatically declared his allegiance – he proudly stands with favorite…“Oh my God, we got to pick a side here?… I think, people wouldn’t respect me if I didn’t stick up for what I grew up on, you know so no matter what, I did grow up on In-N-Out. I’ve got to be true to In-N-Out. I just have to. So as much as I loved Whataburger you know I’m going to stay with my roots here. In-N-Out burgers are pretty tasty…

-----

Back in February of 2021 Lady Gaga’s Dogs got stolen while they were out with the “Dog Walker”..A $500,000 reward for the return was offered…she DID get them BACK.. Now the person who “found” them is suing for the money.  The judge in the case has ruled that the reward will NOT be paid because the person who “found” them was part of the robbery.

-----

How they know that I have no Idea, I CAN tell you that at the Giants-Seahawks game last night every time an ad for her concert came up on the Jumbotron it got booed.

Bailey Zimmerman Thanks His Fans For Taking His New Song, 'Religiously', To Number One  "Big day! Want to know why? Because 'Religiously' is number one of country radio in the US! He tells CountryNow.com that modeling for an underwear campaign is something he never expected to do in his life. "It’s different. The List for Monday, October 2nd 2023

Welcome to The List,

Were you a fan of “Blossom” back in the 90’s would you be interested in a reboot? As let’s say a drama and not a sitcom?  Mayim Bialik says it could happen. She wants to bring back all of the cast and the original creator and producers as well. We want to bring back these interesting, deep characters . . . a child of divorce, a recovering drug addict, an alcoholic . . . to see them in a whole new way."

-----

“The Voice” is BACK and Reba says she can’t wait to see what happens! “Sometimes it’s spontaneous, sometimes it’s immediate and sometimes you get to tape things and look at it and redu, But, when it’s live…I do love it. So when we get to the live rounds and things like that, I really do love it.”  “The Voice” airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC…

-----

The editor of ‘Saw X’ had the police called on him after neighbors thought he was torturing someone. The editor was working on a scene with loud screams at his North Hollywood office when the cops arrived. A source tells NME magazine, "The police came to his door, and he explained he was working on a movie. The cops started laughing!"  The movie finished second at the weekend box office with $18 million.

-----

Travis Kelce was seen leaving Taylor Swift's apartment yesterday morning.  Then SHE showed up to watch the Chiefs play the Jets.  She brought Sophie Turner, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman.  It was a really good game in between the announcers fawning over Taylor for a lot of it…The Chiefs Beat the Jets 23 – 20.

-----

There was a rumor going around that Kelsea Ballerini lip synced while performing at the "People's Choice Country Awards".  Well, it's not true. She posted a video of herself joking about it AND explaining what happened.  NBC had her back too.  They posted a clip of her performing the song on the show . . . and they captioned it, "Flawless glitch-free performance.  Nobody does live vocals like her."

-----

And lastly, the new “Barney” movie has the “green light” and producers promise that it will not be an “odd movie” it’s a movie about a purple dinosaur…nothing odd about this at all…

The List for Friday, September 29th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Well, today's the day that Netflix sends out its final DVDs.  Don't feel bad if you didn't even know Netflix still mailed out DVDs.  Fewer than a million subscribers held on this long. Those of you who refused to quit your plans get an extra bonus:  You get to KEEP whatever comes your way.  Some subscribers have been chosen to receive 10 discs as a parting gift. At its peak, the DVD service had 20 million subscribers, and a library of more than 100,000 titles. Netflix shipped its first DVD in 1998.  It was "Beetlejuice".

------

Dylan Scott tells People magazine that working with a jackhammer was the hardest thing he's ever done. “You would think ... let the thing do the work. But all the tendons in your hands and the muscles in your hands. He did it for two days, he can still feel it. That was the hardest two days of his life.”

-----

The producers of the new "Exorcist" movie had to change their release date to avoid going up against Taylor Swift's concert movie.  But they briefly considered going head-to-head, and trying to create another "Barbenheimer" . . . although this one would have been called "ExorSwift". And Cops did a welfare check on Britney Spears, after her video where she's dancing with knives.  Police talked to her security, who said she was okay, then left…yeah…Britney Spears is just….fine…no worries there….

-----

The inaugural "People's Choice Country Awards" went down last night in Nashville . . . and if you were busy watching football, "The Golden Bachelor", or "Lego Masters", I understand.  You didn't miss much.  If they're going to give us a fourth awards show in one calendar year, at least make it unique.  There was nothing fresh or new.  Morgan Wallen won the big award, People's Artist of 2023, and he wasn't there.   Neither was Jelly Roll after winning Male Artist.  Also not there? Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, and Keith Urban . . . to name a few.

-----

Michael Gambon . . . who played Professor Dumbledore in the final six "Harry Potter" movies . . . died after a bout of pneumonia.  He was 82.  Daniel Radcliffe called him, quote, "one of the most brilliant, effortless actors I've ever had the privilege of working with."

-----

And lastly, you never have to worry about Luke Combs not getting enough exercise….He tells Music Mayhem Magazine that he burns a massive amount of calories during his concerts. "I wear a WHOOP band fitness tracker while on stage and burn around 2,600 calories per show and my band averages anywhere from four to five or six miles."

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
