-----

President Biden signed an executive order yesterday on artificial intelligence . . . you know, to stop it from taking over the world and sending unkillable cyborgs back to our time to assassinate the mothers of future resistance leaders. But his inspiration was NOT "The Terminator".  It was the new "Mission: Impossible" movie, "Dead Reckoning Part One". Biden recently watched the movie, in which an A.I. program called The Entity gains sentience and goes rogue. Biden's chief of staff Bruce Reed says, quote, "If he hadn't already been concerned about what could go wrong with A.I. before that movie, he is now.”

-----

CBS says Wynonna Judd will be a mega mentor on this season of 'The Voice'. A source close to the show says, "Fans are excited to see Wynonna as part of the show. Her expertise and personality will make this season special."

-----

Jason Aldean tells Parade magazine that it's important to be true to oneself even if it generates controversy. "I think anytime you're trying to do something and make a statement, there's always gonna be people that don't agree with it, As long as you're doing things for the right reasons, I think it'll all work itself out in the ends”. I wonder if he was talking about anything specific….

-----

The Sun says Britney Spears' memoir may be turned into a TV series, a feature film, or a documentary.  The book covers her relationship with Justin Timberlake, her family troubles and her struggles with mental health. The memoir has been a huge success, prompting plans for a second book. It’s The Sun so take it with a grain of salt…

-----

And lastly, Hypebeast says McDonald's is teaming up with Crocs for a new clog. The Mickey D’s Croc features McDonald's signature colors and charms of their iconic mascots.  The clogs cost $75…

The List for Tuesday, October 31st 2023

Welcome to The List,

Tis the season and before to long, Oprah will be out with her favorite things, Amazon will have a retail list out and even Gwyneth Paltrow’s 2023 Goop Holiday Gift Guide is available now. It includes a leather tennis ball holder for $350, a Hermès doghouse for $1,925, and Chanel roller skates for $5,125….Those are just the few that I can mention here….

-----

I think I KNOW why these young country stars are getting divorced.  They never talk to each other.  Morgan Evans was blindsided when Kelsea Ballerini called it quits.  His breakup song even had the lyric, "why am I just finding out?" And now we're hearing Ryan Hurd say the same stuff about Maren Morris filing for divorce.  A source told "Us Weekly" that Ryan "wasn't expecting it" . . . and Maren's decision, "seems to have come out of the blue."  Ryan hasn't made an official statement yet.

-----

The Daily Dot says Kansas City Chiefs fans are blaming Taylor Swift for their team's loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Conspiracy theorists believe the loss was part of a scripted plan. Twitter users say Swift's absence from the game resulted in the Chiefs playing poorly. Others believe that the real factors were Patrick Mahomes' illness and the cold weather.

-----

Now that the writers strike is over, these busy bees are hard at work on movie sequels.  The worlds of "It Follows" and "Poltergeist" are being expanded. “It Follows", the 2014 movie about a sexually transmitted . . . um, Ghost?  Demon? . . . is getting a sequel called "They Follow".  Original star Maika Monroe is returning.  There's no word on plot details. And Amazon is in the early stages of developing a TV series based on the 1982 horror classic "Poltergeist". Once again, there are no details, except that the show will be set "within the world of the film.

-----

Eric Church tells GAC that he had a great Halloween costume in college. Although, it’s not best to wait till the last minute.  They drove all over to find a costume and all the places were sold out. Until they came across this hole in the wall place that had all original Sesame Street costumes. They went out as Elmo, Cookie Monster and Eric was Big Bird.

-----

And lastly, speaking of  "Sesame Street" They’ll have a few changes for season 56, when it comes out in 2025.  Instead of a "magazine-style" format, it'll be two narrative-driven segments with a new animated series in between them.

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Monday, October 30th 2023

Welcome to The List,

I can't imagine you haven't heard this by now, but Matthew Perry died Saturday morning.  He was only 54.  Details are sketchy, but here's what we know: Matthew returned home from a two-hour round of pickleball and sent his assistant on an errand.  When the assistant returned two hours later, he found Matthew in a hot tub.  911 was called, It SOUNDS like cardiac arrest and / or drowning was the cause of death.  TMZ says no illegal drugs were found on the scene. His last credit was the 2017 miniseries, "The Kennedys After Camelot". As of last night, none of the other five main "Friends" cast members had commented on his death. Although I’m sure by now that’s changed…

-----

Justin Moore displayed a little more of his "self" than planned at his show in Estero, Florida on Friday.  He split his pants while covering Waylon Jennings' "Theme from The Dukes of Hazzard (Good Ol' Boys)". There are a couple of videos making the rounds, and the split happens when he decides to bend down and slap the stage.  Why would he do that? What did it do to offend the man? Who knows….He immediately realizes what had happened. He left the stage to change them and brought the old ones out to show what had happened…THIS is why we never go on stage with REALLY tight pants…

-----

Jason Aldean wrapped up his tour in Tampa on Saturday . . . and he surprised the crowd by bringing out a random special guest:  70-year-old Hulk Hogan. Hulk hyped up the crowd for a minute or so, and then as he walked off stage, Jason called him "the GOAT."   (Here's UNCENSORED video.  Hulk didn't drop any profanity, but there's a lot of crowd noise.  Hulk also posted photos from backstage with Jason, along with their wives.)

-----

The NY Post says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's former residence, Windsor Castle, is reportedly haunted by the ghosts of King Henry VIII, George III, Elizabeth I, and the Queen Mother.  Queen Elizabeth II's sister, Princess Margaret, saw ghosts in the castle. Other haunted royal residences in the UK include Buckingham Palace, Balmoral Castle, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, Frogmore Cottage, Sandringham House, and St. James’s Palace….wow, that’s a tea party…happy Halloween…

-----

Richard Moll, the fun-loving actor who portrayed the towering and tenderhearted bailiff Aristotle Nostradamus “Bull” Shannon on all nine seasons of the popular NBC sitcom Night Court, Moll died peacefully Thursday at his home in Big Bear Lake, California, his publicist announced He was 80.

-----

Even though it's also on Peacock, "Five Nights at Freddy's" made $78 million in its opening weekend "Terrifier 3" is in the works . . . and it'll be a Christmas movie. "The Black Phone 2" is in the works and set for release on June 27th, 2025.
