Our October Pack the Backpack winner is Megan Schutt, Kindergarten Teacher at Bailey Park Elementary School in the Grinnell-Newberg School District. She was nominated by her sister, Emily Louden. Here is her nomination later:
Megan Schutt is an outstanding kindergarten teacher at Bailey Park Elementary in Grinnell, Iowa.
Megan meets every student she encounters where they are emotionally and educationally to help define what success will look like for them. She is patient and kind as well as funny and imaginative. Megan goes above and beyond for every student to make them feel important and successful.
Megan buys special gifts and snacks for students when they reach a goal making them even more proud they accomplished what they set out to do. Her students are engaged and if they struggle she finds a way to help teach them so they feel they can do anything they set out to do.
She often gives up lunch time, planning time, and even personal time for her students. She is invested in their success even after they leave her classroom at the end of the year. One of the biggest hearts, best smiles (and laughs), and a truly amazing encourager.
I wish you could spend a day watching her do what she loves. She is truly amazing and is such a gift to her students, their families, and her co workers. Grinnell Newburg School District is better because of her and the blessings she offers.
I hope you will consider her for the Pack the Backpack.
Sincerely,
Emily Louden

Welcome to The List,
Roseanne Barr says they asked her to come back to The Conners... as a ghost. She told Female First, “You killed me off, stole my show, and NOW you want me back ‘cause your ratings are in the toilet?” Her official response? “I’ll be busy… bowling.” Translation: hard pass, Casper.

Jason Aldean’s wife Brittany just lived out every Southern girl’s nightmare. She posted a video of a snake just chillin’ at their front door like it was there to sell cookies. You hear her go, “This is what nightmares are made of!” No ma’am. That’s what FLAMETHROWERS are made for.

If you're a Stranger Things junkie and haven’t emotionally recovered from Season 4 yet, good news! A new animated spinoff called Tales from '85 is coming next year. It fills in the winter gap between Seasons 2 and 3. Same Hawkins weirdness—just now with cartoons and probably fewer nosebleeds.

Wanna drink where the country stars pretend to be regular people? The top-rated bars are in! We got Old Dominion’s Odie’s, Luke Combs’ Category 10—which sounds like a hurricane and a hangover—and of course Blake Shelton’s Ole Red. Honky tonk? More like honky bougie.
You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa's BEST Country KIX 101.1
