March Pack the Backpack Winner: Mrs. Randi Davis

Pack the Backpack, presented by Central Office Supply, a division of Minuteman and Kix 101.1! Each month during the school year, we will be awarding $101 to a Kix Country classroom to help out with supplies. We will award the prize on the last Wednesday of the month. You can listen to each new winner at 8:30a on the Morning Kix Start.

Our March winner is Mrs. Randi Davis, 3/4 Multiage Teacher at Nevada Elementary. She was nominated by Dawn Hansen – Parent (her Daughter is in Mrs. Davis’ class).

Since the beginning of 2020/2021 School Year, Central Elementary in Nevada has offered full time in person learning. Like many things in this country, this did not come without criticism and questions. Our Nevada teachers, including Mrs. Davis (3/4 Multiage Teacher), lunch workers, and all other staff have stepped up to the plate to ensure children are being given the education, nutrition, and stability they need!

Mrs. Davis specifically has continued to foster a positive environment for ALL of her students by connecting, challenging, and love each of them. Additionally, Mrs. Davis has gone above and beyond to ensure our children feel safe and are safe during every school day. Finally, Mrs. Davis uses technology, learning techniques, and research to ensure that all of her students are given the tools they need to succeed.

If I could nominate every staff member of the Nevada Community School District I would, but you limit us to one 🤣.

Thank you for this great opportunity and chance to brag about just one of our great NCSD staff members.

-Dawn Hansen

Sylvie 2/19/2026

OUR KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK IS SYLVIE!!

Sylvie is a young, playful pup who is still learning the basics and eager to soak everything in. She has classic puppy energy and loves to run, play, and explore the world around her. They think she is between one and two years old

Sylvie is very treat-motivated, which makes training sessions fun and rewarding, and she enjoys learning new things with positive reinforcement. Her happy, energetic personality makes her a joy to be around, and she would thrive in a home ready to help her grow, learn, and burn off some puppy energy.

Sylvie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested, and microchipped, and she’s ready to find a loving family to guide her as she continues to grow into a wonderful companion. 🐾💛 More info

The List for Monday, February 9th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Lainey Wilson says she would absolutely jump back into the saddle for upcoming Yellowstone spin-offs. She told creator Taylor Sheridan she would gladly reprise her role. Country star. Acting chops. Cowboy hats. Honestly, at this point Lainey just lives in fringe and Montana. And we are not mad about it.

-----

Adam Sandler says that viral video about his daughter getting humiliated in a Chanel store is completely fake. The AI clip shows him storming in and dropping $312,000 on handbags. He says the whole story is 100 percent insane and made-up. However… The midnight In-N-Out burger run rumor? He says that one is true. Priorities.

-----

Rumor alert. Reports claim Taylor Swift has allegedly decided not to invite Blake Lively or Ryan Reynolds to her upcoming wedding. Sources say she wants a drama-free day and still feels burned from being pulled into Blake’s legal mess. Allegedly. Emphasis on allegedly. Nothing says romance like a very selective guest list.

-----

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes have reportedly split. Again. That makes three times. At this point it is less “will they or won’t they” and more “we’ll circle back.” Call me when it sticks.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
