Hank 2/28/2023

OUR KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK IS HANK!!

You might have seen the story on Facebook. Lonnie Hogeland from Hogeland Auto Plaza was able to catch this fellow.

He is now all cleaned up and ready for a new home. It turns out Hank is about 11 years old. He loves everything and everyone. Hank’s eye sight is not the best as he is mostly blind and can only see shadows. But that does not stop him from enjoying life! He is dog and cat friendly. If you are looking for a small dog, Hank maybe the one you are looking for! Hank’s adoption fee is $75, which includes his neuter, vaccines, microchip and various other treatments. If you are interested in Hank, please stop by the front desk or call 641-753-9046

The List for Thursday, May 22nd 2025

Welcome to The List,

Dolly Parton’s taking over the Country Music Hall of Fame, and it’s shinier than a disco ball at a rhinestone rodeo. This new exhibit is full of glitter, glam, and six decades of fabulous. Dolly even teared up, saying, “It’s a long way from the Smoky Mountains to the top of the world.”

-----

So apparently, we’re canonizing craft brews now? Chicago’s Burning Bush Brewery just dropped a new beer called “Da Pope,” inspired by Pope Leo XIV—because nothing says holiness like hops. It's an American mild ale with fruity notes. So yeah, if you’ve ever wanted to drink the spirit of Chicago’s papal pride... now’s your chance to get buzzed and blessed.

-----

Morgan Wallen’s new rap-cover of “Miami” is catching heat—and not the good kind. People say it sounds like he teamed up with Alvin and the freakin' Chipmunks. The chorus? High-pitched and autotuned within an inch of its life. Once you hear it, you can’t unhear it. It’s giving... helium karaoke. Bless his autotuned little heart.

-----

Shakira’s hips don’t lie—but apparently someone’s immune system did. Someone with measles showed up at her MetLife Stadium show in New Jersey. No confirmed cases yet, but symptoms could pop up through June 6th. So if you went... congrats, you didn’t just get a concert—you might’ve got a souvenir virus. Thanks for the germs, mystery patient zero!

The List for Wednesday, May 21st 2025

Welcome to The List,

George Wendt, the beloved actor known for playing Norm Peterson on Cheers, has passed away at the age of 76. Wendt's publicist confirmed the news, stating that he died peacefully in his sleep at home. Fans of the TV show ‘’Cheers’’ descended upon the Bull and Finch Pub in Boston yesterday to honor George.  The sitcom was based on the pub. Fans drank a beer in honor of George's character Norm.

-----

Jennifer Lopez is getting sued by paparazzi... for posting photos of herself. That’s right—J.Lo threw some pics on Instagram from a Golden Globes pre-party, and now a photo agency is crying, “Copyright!” They claim she used the pics for self-promo without permission. Her team? Silent so far. So remember, folks: If you’re famous, you can be sued for using your own face. Cool world.

-----

Jelly Roll is out here living all our wildest dreams—because he just brought out Eminem in Detroit! It happened during Post Malone’s Big [Butt] World Tour. Jelly was hyping the crowd with “Lose Yourself,” and BOOM—Slim Shady pops out from behind the curtain. Crowd lost their minds, Jelly lost his mind, and called it the best night of his life.

-----

Morgan Wallen might’ve thrown some country boy shade with his new track “I’m a Little Crazy.” The lyric? “I’m a coyote in a field of wolves.” Ooooh. When asked, Morgan didn’t hold back: “I know I wasn’t invited, but I’m still eatin’ and I’m still fed.” Translation: Keep your awards—I’ve got fans, money, and a mic.
