There are set speed cameras setup on Lincoln Way and Governor Road in Marshalltown. Marshalltown Police Chief Mike Tupper joined the KFJB line this week to give the community an update.
The Chief says the ultimate goal is to get people to slow down.
One item mentioned from the beginning of this project was a mobile camera unit. Chief Tupper mentions that the city has not yet received that unit.
Overall, Chief Tupper has been pleased with the recent statistics from the speed cameras. He mentions that those who are still getting a ticket are getting ticketed at lower speeds. The cameras have made people slow down.
