The List for Wednesday, August 2nd 2023

Welcome to The List,

Gwyneth Paltrow is putting the guest house at her home in Montecito, California on Airbnb, and if you book it, you can have dinner with her and her husband in the wine room.  If that’s an incentive.

—–

At what point has it gone…just a little to far…Funeral homes in Mexico and other Latin American countries are offering pink, “Barbie”-themed caskets.  One company says they’re a way for people to, quote, “Rest like Barbie.”

—–

BuzzFeed put together a list of the most unusual things celebrities have in their homes.  Here are some highlights include: Sheryl Crow:  She has traditional death masks that were created after the person passed away, including former presidents William McKinley and William Howard Taft. Kacey Musgraves:  She has a joint from Willie Nelson in a frame…and RuPaul:  He has a “disco room” that has 26 disco balls. Doesn’t everyone?

—–

How can you tell when your OLD…A Gen Z TikToker was shocked to learn that “Push” by Matchbox Twenty was a real song before the “Barbie” movie.  She didn’t even know who Matchbox Twenty was.

—–

Carrie Underwood will once again star in the “show open” for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football”.  It’ll be her 11th consecutive season.  Anymore she’s just as much a staple at the NFL as Hank Williams Jr was.  This year’s debut will be September 10th when the Dallas Cowboys visit the New York Giants.

—–

Nickelodeon will air an alternate, kid-focused telecast of Super Bowl 58.  It’ll be the first time a Super Bowl has had a second presentation…I guess they got that Express written consent from the National Football League…

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Thursday, February 19th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Travis Kelce is out here setting expectations so high the rest of us are gonna get yelled at for bringing home gas station flowers. He’s reportedly spent $141,000 on pre-wedding gifts for Taylor Swift, including Rolex watches, designer jackets, and daily flower deliveries. Daily. Meanwhile, I forgot my anniversary once and tried to fix it with a breakfast burrito. Travis Kelce just ruined relationships for every man in America.

-----

Lainey Wilson is teasing new music, and the title might be the most Lainey Wilson thing ever. The new single is called “Can’t Sit Still,” which tracks, because she’s been everywhere except my back yard party. She says her friends describe her as “a suitcase with legs,” which honestly sounds like Delta Airlines lost her twice already. No official release date yet, but she says it’s coming “real soon,” so prepare your playlists accordingly.

-----

Bunnie XO just revealed she thought Jelly Roll was a jerk when they first met, which proves once again women love a fixer-upper. She said he had “teddy bear with teeth energy” and sad eyes, and she basically looked at him like a home improvement project from HGTV. Fast forward to now, they’re one of Country music’s biggest power couples. Moral of the story, sometimes the guy who ignores you becomes your husband.

-----

The new Mummy reboot is ditching the Tom Cruise action vibe and going straight for emotional damage. This one’s from the director of Evil Dead Rise, so instead of running from explosions, you’ll be running from your own nightmares. It’s about a girl who disappears and comes back after spending quality time inside a 3,000-year-old coffin. It hits theaters April 17th, and I’ll be watching it from the safety of daylight and denial.

You can catch The List, this afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
