The List for Friday, July 28th 2023

Welcome to The List,

You thought “Barbie” was a one-and-done?  Oh, no . . . Mattel has a TON of toy-based movies in the works as we speak.  Buzzfeed rounded them all up . . . and made POSTERS for them.  They include: “Barney”, “Polly Pocket”. . . “Hot Wheels” and “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots” just to name a few…

A.I. is a huge concern of striking actors and writers.  But while they’re demanding protections from artificial intelligence, the studios are secretly ramping up their A.I. capabilities, by looking to hire specialists.  The kicker is that many companies offering high-paying A.I. jobs have been CUTTING employees in other divisions.

 —–

How badly did Aaron Rodgers want to get out of Greenbay?  Well, he’s taking a $35 MILLOIN PAY CUT over the next two seasons just to play for the Jets.  He’s making $75 million fully guaranteed . . . when he was due to make $110 million on his previous contract.

—–

I’m just going to throw this out there because it’s so odd.  Jimmie Allen announced that he’s doing a three-night comedy tour in the fall.  It’s called “I Said What I Said”. He hasn’t revealed the dates yet, and the shows are invite only.  So if you’re interested, hit up his Instagram.  It’s possible that Jimmie IS joking.  If so, it’s not funny.  He’s facing serious sexual assault allegations, and there’s no humor in that.

—–

the Primetime Emmy Awards have been postponed because of the Hollywood writers and actors strikes. The show was set to take place on September 18th on Fox.

—–

Universal Music says Carrie Underwood’s husband, former NHL player Mike Fisher, was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame earlier this week.

The List for Thursday, February 19th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Travis Kelce is out here setting expectations so high the rest of us are gonna get yelled at for bringing home gas station flowers. He’s reportedly spent $141,000 on pre-wedding gifts for Taylor Swift, including Rolex watches, designer jackets, and daily flower deliveries. Daily. Meanwhile, I forgot my anniversary once and tried to fix it with a breakfast burrito. Travis Kelce just ruined relationships for every man in America.

-----

Lainey Wilson is teasing new music, and the title might be the most Lainey Wilson thing ever. The new single is called “Can’t Sit Still,” which tracks, because she’s been everywhere except my back yard party. She says her friends describe her as “a suitcase with legs,” which honestly sounds like Delta Airlines lost her twice already. No official release date yet, but she says it’s coming “real soon,” so prepare your playlists accordingly.

-----

Bunnie XO just revealed she thought Jelly Roll was a jerk when they first met, which proves once again women love a fixer-upper. She said he had “teddy bear with teeth energy” and sad eyes, and she basically looked at him like a home improvement project from HGTV. Fast forward to now, they’re one of Country music’s biggest power couples. Moral of the story, sometimes the guy who ignores you becomes your husband.

-----

The new Mummy reboot is ditching the Tom Cruise action vibe and going straight for emotional damage. This one’s from the director of Evil Dead Rise, so instead of running from explosions, you’ll be running from your own nightmares. It’s about a girl who disappears and comes back after spending quality time inside a 3,000-year-old coffin. It hits theaters April 17th, and I’ll be watching it from the safety of daylight and denial.

You can catch The List, this afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
