The List for Wednesday, July 19th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Yesterday we reported that Miranda Lambert stopped her show in Vegas and scolded fans for taking selfies. Well, the woman has come forward, and she’s NOT apologizing.  they just wanted to have a good picture, because they “had the best seats in the house. It was 30 seconds at most.  We took the picture quickly and were going to sit back down” She didn’t like how Miranda made it seem like she and her friends were “young, immature, and vain.” They would have taken the pictures before the show, but the lighting wasn’t good…sounds a little vain to me…

Lately it seems like these breakup rumors have been coming true more often than not, so maybe it’s best we don’t ignore this one: The not-always-reliable Radar Online says that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are having issues, and they’re taking some time apart to figure things out.  Harry doesn’t fit in Meghan’s tacky Tinseltown world,” and he needs to “find himself.”

Blake Shelton will present Toby Keith with the Country Icon Award at the first-ever “People’s Choice Country Awards”.  He’ll be recognized for his 30-year career.  It airs live from the Grand Ole Opry on September 28th on NBC. In other Toby news, he stopped by a recent LoCash show in Orlando and joined them on stage for a cover of “Johnny B. Goode”.

If you didn’t get to go to CMA Fest this year in Nashville…well, they’re bringing the music event of the summer to you!! We asked Dierks what it’s like hosting. “Hosting the CMA Fest is the ultimate gig. It’s so fun. I mean, I’ve hosted some big awards show as well and those are great too, but this is a four-day festival, so I get to be there for four days.  It’s the greatest fans to play in front of, BUT I get to co-host this with two of the funniest people I know – Elle King and Lainey Wilson.” CMA Fest airs tonight at 7pm on ABC.

If you received your first Hollywood paycheck, what would you buy? A list of what some actors bought with their first Hollywood paycheck includes Oprah Winfrey buying fluffy Ralph Lauren towels, Tom Cruise paying for college tuition for one sister and a car for the other. Sylvester Stallone:  bought back his dog Butkus, whom he previously sold off when he was desperate for money.  Butkus ended up co-staring with him in the first two “Rocky” movies. Joe Keery from “Stranger Things”:  He went home to Chicago and bought a Chicago hot dog.

Did the new “Snow White” and “Wonka” movies give little people the shaft? At least that’s the opinion of one little person who says roles for people in his community are drying up.  Dylan Postl . . . who was also known as Hornswoggle in the WWE for many years . . . says “progressive” policies are the reason the dwarfs in “Snow White” are no longer dwarfs . . .And Hugh Grant is the Oompa Loompa in the upcoming “Wonka” movie.  Dylan says, quote, “These are roles made for actors of my stature . . . I can’t go for the Harrison Ford or the George Clooney roles.  He has a point.

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Thursday, December 18th 2025

Welcome to The List,

The Oscars are officially breaking up with ABC and moving in with YouTube. Starting in 2029, the Academy Awards will stream on YouTube, along with all the red-carpet chaos, through at least 2033. ABC still gets the show through the 100th Oscars in 2028, but after that, no channel flipping — you’re clicking a link.

Don’t expect to see Michael Bublé back in the spinning chair next season. He says he’s done with The Voice after dealing with online backlash and missing his family. An insider says the negative comments really took a toll, even though he loves the show and the crew. Sometimes the smoothest crooner in the room just wants to go home and be Dad.

-----

Blake Shelton shared the first time he brought Gwen Stefani home to Oklahoma and it blew her mind. Gwen, raised in Anaheim, saw Blake’s land and asked, “You own this?” Then she spotted a creek and said, “You can have that?” She thought rivers only came with national park admission. Blake called it one of the joys of his life. City girl meets country acreage…

Morgan Wallen is now the highest-selling country artist of all time. He just picked up 80 new certifications and officially crossed 240 million units sold. Luke Combs comes in at number two, Garth Brooks at number three. Let that sink in. Skipped awards shows, topped streaming, and now sits on the mountain. Morgan let the numbers do the talking and they did….loudly.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
