The List for Friday, July 14th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Hollywood writers will have some company on the picket lines, because now the ACTORS are on strike.  The performers union, SAG-AFTRA, voted for the stoppage yesterday. The strike began at midnight.  It’s the first time that actors and writers have been on strike together since 1960.  Well, it looks like re-runs of Gilligan’s Island on Tubi for me.

Disney is feeling the pressure, after losing $900Million in box office flops over this movie season.  and another $659Million due to subscribers dumping Disney+.  It’s CEO Bob Iger says that two of the company’s biggest franchises are going to feel it as well. By producing less Marvel and “Star Wars” content.  Quote, “You pull back not just to focus, but also as part of our cost containment initiative . . . Spending less on what we make.”

There may be hope for Jimmie Allen’s marriage, despite the two sexual assault charges he’s looking at.  It appears that he’s trying to work things out with his estranged wife, Alexis Gale. He told “People”, quote, He recently took time off to be with his wife, kids, and friends, “to ensure everyone was okay.” He filed two countersuits yesterday against his accusers in Nashville federal court.

Miranda Lambert and her husband, Brendan, are ready to start a family. A source says “Miranda and Brendan have been married for over four years, and They’re ready to expand the family.  Currently Miranda is preforming her “Velvet Rodeo” residency in Las Vegas through the end of the year, so it’ll have to be between sets…or something…

Priscilla Block Reveals Gross Facts About Herself … She reveals that she is a championship “burper.” Priscilla also says she was supposed to be a twin,  “I am a really great burper…I can hold pitch, it’s like just a long burp like belch.  It’s very, very ladylike.  Another thing fans might not know about me.  I was supposed to be a twin!  I think I ate my twin!! I’m serious! That is actually real. I won’t go into all the details but, I have lived my life eating for two people.”

And finally, The New York Post says ‘Wheel of Fortune’ host Pat Sajak recently responded to a funny tweet made by an account called Chicago History. Chicago History posted a meme that read;  “If someone from 1981 suddenly woke up in 2023, what would surprise them the most?” Sajak responded; “That Pat Sajak was still hosting Wheel of Fortune.”

The List for Thursday, February 19th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Travis Kelce is out here setting expectations so high the rest of us are gonna get yelled at for bringing home gas station flowers. He’s reportedly spent $141,000 on pre-wedding gifts for Taylor Swift, including Rolex watches, designer jackets, and daily flower deliveries. Daily. Meanwhile, I forgot my anniversary once and tried to fix it with a breakfast burrito. Travis Kelce just ruined relationships for every man in America.

-----

Lainey Wilson is teasing new music, and the title might be the most Lainey Wilson thing ever. The new single is called “Can’t Sit Still,” which tracks, because she’s been everywhere except my back yard party. She says her friends describe her as “a suitcase with legs,” which honestly sounds like Delta Airlines lost her twice already. No official release date yet, but she says it’s coming “real soon,” so prepare your playlists accordingly.

-----

Bunnie XO just revealed she thought Jelly Roll was a jerk when they first met, which proves once again women love a fixer-upper. She said he had “teddy bear with teeth energy” and sad eyes, and she basically looked at him like a home improvement project from HGTV. Fast forward to now, they’re one of Country music’s biggest power couples. Moral of the story, sometimes the guy who ignores you becomes your husband.

-----

The new Mummy reboot is ditching the Tom Cruise action vibe and going straight for emotional damage. This one’s from the director of Evil Dead Rise, so instead of running from explosions, you’ll be running from your own nightmares. It’s about a girl who disappears and comes back after spending quality time inside a 3,000-year-old coffin. It hits theaters April 17th, and I’ll be watching it from the safety of daylight and denial.

You can catch The List, this afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
