The media is really invested in the box office battle between “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer”, which both open on July 21st. Even though they don’t seem like they’d have any audience crossover at all. But maybe that’s not the case. AMC Theaters says that around 20,000 people who belong to their Stubs rewards program have already bought tickets to see both movies ON THE SAME DAY.

When Lainey Wilson performed on “American Idol” in May it was kind of a homecoming. Strike that. Let’s call it “returning to the scene of the crime”. The crime is how many times “Idol” rejected her in the past. She talked about it in an interview BEFORE the May appearance where we learned she got rejected SEVEN times!! The Country Music Association (CMA) has revealed performances featured in the 2023 edition of its annual CMA Fest primetime special, airing Wednesday, July 19th at 7 pm on ABC and the next day on Hulu. The three-hour Musical Event of the Summer hosted by Dierks Bentley, Elle King and Lainey Wilson features can’t-miss collaborations and unforgettable performances that took place during the 50th anniversary of CMA Fest just last month in Nashville.

Sad news from the NASCAR world. Greg Biffle, one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers, has died at age 55 in a plane crash in North Carolina. Authorities say seven people were killed, including Biffle, his wife Cristina, and their two children. Beyond his racing success, Biffle was widely praised for his humanitarian work, especially helping communities after Hurricane Helene. The racing world is mourning a champion on and off the track.
