The List for Wednesday, June 7th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino have gone on record as NOT being fans of the Marvel movies.  And that makes Thor sad. Chris Hemsworth said it was super depressing to hear that. Two of his heroes he says “I won’t be working with. I guess they’re not a fan of me.” But he clarified that those guys are, quote, “still my heroes, and in a heartbeat I would leap to work with any of them.”

Shania Twain was recently asked if she would ever retire…”I think there’s certain elements of my career that need to go in waves in order to stay..for the creative well to stay full.  Or to refill or whatever, but, for me that just means change going from one creative element to another creative element.” So….that’s a no then to the retirement question?

Pete Davidson left an angry voicemail for PETA, after they publicly dragged him for buying a dog instead of adopting.  He explained that he had to get a certain breed because he’s severely allergic, and he was buying it for his mother because her dog had just died….why is Pete Davidson explaining himself…

Eric Church is getting his own exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.  It’s called “Eric Church: Country Heart, Restless Soul”, and it’ll open July 13th . . . and run into the summer of 2024. Items on display will include an acoustic guitar Eric owned as a kid.  A trucker hat he bought at a Mississippi truck stop in the late 2000s and began wearing onstage.  And yes, a pair of his famous Ray-Ban Aviator Mirror sunglasses.

Eva Mendes admits she’s a hairy “beast” who needs to shave her face every other day.  She adds, quote, “My hair grows back if I get chills.  I’ll literally be shaving my legs in the shower and get chills and all my work is undone!”  That’s like an “X-men” thing right? Interesting…

Lauren Alaina is ready to share her true story! Sometimes going home is all it takes to find what’s next. Turning the key on a new chapter today, Lauren Alaina is back, announcing her first release since signing to Big Loud Records. Unlocked, her six-song return, is out everywhere June 9.  She announced it first on her socials this morning.

The List for Thursday, February 19th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Travis Kelce is out here setting expectations so high the rest of us are gonna get yelled at for bringing home gas station flowers. He’s reportedly spent $141,000 on pre-wedding gifts for Taylor Swift, including Rolex watches, designer jackets, and daily flower deliveries. Daily. Meanwhile, I forgot my anniversary once and tried to fix it with a breakfast burrito. Travis Kelce just ruined relationships for every man in America.

-----

Lainey Wilson is teasing new music, and the title might be the most Lainey Wilson thing ever. The new single is called “Can’t Sit Still,” which tracks, because she’s been everywhere except my back yard party. She says her friends describe her as “a suitcase with legs,” which honestly sounds like Delta Airlines lost her twice already. No official release date yet, but she says it’s coming “real soon,” so prepare your playlists accordingly.

-----

Bunnie XO just revealed she thought Jelly Roll was a jerk when they first met, which proves once again women love a fixer-upper. She said he had “teddy bear with teeth energy” and sad eyes, and she basically looked at him like a home improvement project from HGTV. Fast forward to now, they’re one of Country music’s biggest power couples. Moral of the story, sometimes the guy who ignores you becomes your husband.

-----

The new Mummy reboot is ditching the Tom Cruise action vibe and going straight for emotional damage. This one’s from the director of Evil Dead Rise, so instead of running from explosions, you’ll be running from your own nightmares. It’s about a girl who disappears and comes back after spending quality time inside a 3,000-year-old coffin. It hits theaters April 17th, and I’ll be watching it from the safety of daylight and denial.

You can catch The List, this afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
