The List for Thursday, December 29th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Do you want to know more about Carly Pearce’s life? She tells The Tennessean newspaper to just listen to her songs. “In this next phase, I’m just excited to keep doing what I’ve always done, which is write what’s going on in my life. Do I have a big divorce to write about right now? Thank God no, I don’t! I’m grateful for that. I’m grateful that I conquered that chapter of my life in a graceful way. But I’m excited to be able to show fans what I’ve been up to.”

Is Jackson Dean Country? Well he tells Songwriter Universe magazine that he grew up in a tiny shack. “It was just four block walls with a stove in the corner and a couch that I had built and my bed in the corner. It was my dad’s room, my uncle’s room, my cousin’s room, and then it was mine. It was some of the best times of my life, and I would happily do it all over again!”

FemaleFirst.co.UK says Pete Davidson and Emily Ratajkowski are no longer dating. A source close to the pair says, “Their fling has moved into the friend zone. They both seem fine with that.” So, ladies! If you’re interested…a slightly used…almost funny comedian is on the market!

This Saturday, CBS is ringing in 2023 with New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, an epic holiday spectacular featuring some of the biggest names in country music. The special will be co-hosted by singer-songwriters Elle King and Jimmy Allen, as well as Entertainment Tonight correspondent Rachel Smith.  Elle says of the night “They’re going to give me a mic, you just never know what’s going to happen.” The fun starts  at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continuing from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.  on the CBS Television Network, and stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.

Top Gun: Maverick played in theaters for months and has been available on home video since early November, but none of that stopped Tom Cruise from dominating on Paramount+. The film was finally added to the streaming platform on Dec. 22 and has become the most-watched movie ever for Paramount+ in the U.S. The six Mission: Impossible movies also saw a boost, as Cruise fans could not get enough of his death-defying stunts over the holiday weekend. I just watched Top Gun: Maverick last night!!

Luke Combs simply doesn’t miss. The current CMA Entertainer of the Year took to social media Tuesday December 27th to tease yet another new track “Growin’ Up and Getting Old.” The retrospective tune hits all of Combs’s strengths. His ability to suck you into a story and paint a country music picture is truly one of a kind. “Its when you start thinking how much time left you got” the clip starts. “I’ve been thinking more and more about it these days,” Combs continues. The 30 second snippet seems to be a future #1 in the making.

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Wednesday, February 11th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Luke Combs tells Southern Living he is a simple Southern comfort food guy. Barbecue, mac and cheese, cornbread, and he is happy. No truffle foam. No tiny portions on giant plates. So next time he swings through KIX Country, forget the autograph. Hand that man a brisket and watch the magic happen.

-----

Rumors say Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have allegedly made relationship resolutions to avoid drifting apart. Sources claim they are being more intentional with work, church, health, and actual date nights. Less coasting, more communicating. A very deliberate reset, according to insiders. Nothing says romance like a scheduled calendar invite.

-----

Riley Green admits he has never celebrated Valentine’s Day with a girlfriend. He calls himself a procrastinator and jokes that Christmas gifts get wrapped in newspaper. Romantic. Truly. He says a Valentine’s date would likely involve last-minute grocery store flowers. Sir, the bar is already low. Please step over it.

-----

Post Malone hit the stage at a Bud Light Super Bowl show and found out beers were $14. He called it unacceptable and tried dropping the price to $7, then $5, even joked about $3 for Cowboys fans. Spoiler alert. The bartenders kept charging full price. The crowd still had fun. But we can all agree, fourteen dollars for a beer is emotional damage.

Catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
