Welcome to The List,
“Avatar: The Way of Water” opens this weekend . . . and not surprisingly, it should open BIG. Estimates are putting it at $150 million to $175 million in the U.S., with a global debut of $450 million to $550 million. The movie is over three hours long, which means fewer showings . . . but at the same time, it really doesn’t have any competition this weekend. “The Way of Water” cost around $400 million to make BEFORE you factor in marketing.

Just when you thought Blake Shelton was DONE with “The Voice” . . . there’s this. He was asked if he could see himself returning as a celeb mentor on his wife Gwen Stefani’s team. I think you know where we’re going with this . . .He said, quote, “Oh my God, I’d be honored to be [her] mentor. Whatever she tells me to do, I’m gonna do.”

There’s a Christmas edition of “CMT Campfire Sessions” that premieres next week . . . on the 21st. It includes Christmas song performances from Tracy Lawrence, Clay Walker, Jon Pardi, and Old Crow Medicine Show.

Henry Cavill is officially OUT as Superman . . . and James Gunn is writing a new movie about a younger version of the character. Cavill took to Instagram for the announcement saying “Changing of the guard is something that happens, I wish them all involved with the new universe the best of luck, and the happiest of fortunes.”

Brett Young likes putting up Christmas decorations saying he’s not a Griswold shooting Christmas trees through his neighbor’s windows, but he CAN follow directions. “I have pretty much just told my wife, just tell me what you want, where I want you to be happy with the way it looks, cause I’m gonna be like brought into the cheer of the season either way. I do love having the house decorated and my wife is really good at that.”

If you’ve been keeping up with the docuseries ‘Harry & Megan’ Netflix drops the final episodes today, but it doesn’t matter what’s on them: The relationship between Harry and his brother Prince William is already TOAST. A so-called “source” close to the Royals says, “The relationship between the brothers is over . . . William will never forgive Harry for selling out his and Kate’s secrets. Pouring even more fuel on the fire, “Harry & Megan” is already Netflix’s biggest documentary debut of all time.

Welcome to The List,
Brantley Gilbert sang “Dirt Road Anthem” at the Turning Point USA halftime show, and Zach Bryan took it personally. So Zach dropped a parody called “Chili on a Hot Dog,” basically roasting the lyrics and celebrating double-fisted chili dogs like it’s a county fair championship. Brantley fired back by grabbing two foot-long chili dogs on stage and acting it out. Jason Aldean chimed in with, “Best song I’ve heard from that guy.” Nothing says country unity like processed meat.

Thomas Rhett admitted on a podcast he’s losing hearing in one ear at 35 and had to get hearing aids. Years of loud concerts… plus four kids and a fifth on the way. He wore them for a week and asked his wife, “Is this what you hear all day?” She basically said, welcome to marriage. Turns out the loudest tour of his life is at home.

There’s a new indie horror movie called ‘The House Was Not Hungry Then’, told entirely from the haunted house’s perspective. No close-ups. No dramatic reaction shots. Just the house silently watching a woman search for her missing father. It hits video on demand February 13th. So now even the drywall is judging you.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer says he’s working on Top Gun 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean 6. He told Screen Rant it’s basically a horse race. Right now Top Gun is barely ahead, waiting on a script. So Maverick might fly again… or Jack Sparrow might stumble back in. Hollywood is saying…. originality is overrated.
