The List for Thursday, November 17th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Move over Hallmark channel there’s a new player in town…and it’s called QVC. They’re not just a home shopping network anymore . . . they’ve gotten into the very lucrative business of making cheesy, contrived holiday romantic comedies. Their first Christmas movie, “Holly & the Hot Chocolate”, will premiere on it on Thanksgiving Day And it looks bad.  Like, REALLY bad.  It’s about a food critic with car trouble and a cranky tow truck driver who, of course, find love . . . in a town where a guy sells really good hot chocolate.

There’s an intentional Easter egg in “Top Gun: Maverick”, and if you caught it, Tom Cruise would be quite impressed.  A guy’s yell from the volleyball scene in the first “Top Gun” was sampled and used in the football scene in the new movie. A fan on Twitter pointed it out and Eddie Hamilton, an editor on the movie, noticed the Tweet and said, quote, “I am stoked you noticed this.  Very deliberate little nod . . . No one else has spotted this as far as I’m aware.  Enjoy your time in the smug zone.”

—–

Elle King’s debut country album, “Come Get Your Wife”, will be out in January. Obviously, she’s very excited about it. Quote, “I’ve poured my heart and a lot of tequila into this record.  I hope people like it because I’m proud of it and I can’t wait to sing all these songs live and I hope you guys want to sing them with me.”  She says this new album is packed full of emotion and excitement and a lot of gratitude toward the country music fans…

After the 2022 we’ve had, this is one of the best things I could have heard:  Woody and Buzz from “Toy Story” are best buddies in real life.  Tim Allen says he and Tom Hanks are super-close and have been having lunch together since the first “Toy Story”.  And even though they disagree on a lot of things, he says, quote, “I adore that man’s heart and mind.”

—–

CMA’s Country Christmas date and performers have been announced. Dan + Shay, Carly Pearce, Scotty McCreery, Maren Morris, Old Dominion, and Steven Curtis Chapman are some of the performers on this year with Carly as the host. The show now in it’s Thirteenth year will air from Nashville on ABC December 12th.

—–

And finally, Jimmie Allen and Elle King are going to host Nashville’s New Year’s Eve celebration. The celebration will feature Brooks & Dunn, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, Zac Brown Band and more.

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Tuesday, February 17th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Keith Urban is reportedly planning a Bahamas getaway with Nicole Kidman and their daughters to reconnect as a family. Because nothing fixes family tension like sunshine, ocean views, and drinks with tiny umbrellas. Sources say the Bahamas is neutral territory, not tied to Nashville, LA, or lawyers.

-----

AJ McLean says it’s time for a ‘90s pop Super Bowl halftime show featuring Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, NSYNC, and 98 Degrees. Basically, he wants the halftime show to look like your middle school dance playlist. And honestly, I’m not mad. One “Bye Bye Bye” dance break and half of America is throwing out a knee.

-----

Megan Moroney is doing something shocking in 2026…charging affordable ticket prices. Her new “Cloud 9” pop-up tour is nine shows in nine cities for just nine bucks a ticket. Nine dollars. That’s less than a beer, less than parking, and definitely less than your emotional support concert hoodie.

-----

Hollywood legend Robert Duvall has passed at 95, and Tim McGraw paid tribute to his Tender Mercies co-star and friend. Tim said they even texted each other over the years about movies and memories. Which is wild, because somewhere out there was Robert Duvall…just casually texting Tim McGraw like, “Hey man, Tender Mercies is on again.”

You can catch The List weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

Honey 2/17/2026

OUR KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK IS HONEY!!

Honey is a loving, sweet-natured about 2 year old lap cat who truly thrives on affection and human companionship. She came to us after the passing of her previous owner and is now hoping to find a calm, caring home where she can once again feel safe and cherished.

Honey has a gentle personality and enjoys curling up in laps, soaking up attention, and spending quiet time with her people. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a devoted, affectionate cat.

Honey is spayed, up to date on vaccines, FIV/FeLV tested, and microchipped, so she is all ready to begin her next chapter in a forever home.

Since Honey is our KIX Critter of the week her adoption fee is only $25.00!!!
