The List for Wednesday, October 19th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Kane Brown is a huge rock fan and wants to do a collaboration.  He says, “When I say rock, I mean Slipknot, I mean, I’m a Green Day fan too, but I’m a workout fiend so, like, heavy . . . Slipknot, Korn, crazy stuff.”  But don’t worry, he said he could never leave country because metal just isn’t his brand.

The “Charlie Brown” Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas specials will be exclusive to Apple TV+ again this year.  But there will be a brief window where non-subscribers can stream them for free..

—–

Matt Smith’s “House of the Dragon” character, Daemon Targaryen, is getting a lot of romantic attention from fans, even though his morals are a little sketchy.  And one of the producers thinks that might not last because, quote, “We will see a different side of him.”

The NFL found a day where there was no football, and they remedied that situation….Beginning next year, there will be a game on Black Friday . . . the day after Thanksgiving . . . on Amazon Prime. That’s good for Amazon, since “Thursday Night Football” doesn’t happen on Thanksgiving.  CBS and Fox have a lock on Turkey Day games.  So Amazon still gets to participate over Thanksgiving weekend . . . which, as a bonus, is also the kickoff to the holiday shopping season.

CMT’s “Hot 20 Countdown” had country stars ask questions of each other.  Cody Johnson asked Luke Combs how fatherhood is going, “Being a dad’s awesome.  It’s super fun.  It can be stressful at times, but a lot more good than bad, for sure.  It’s been really fun.” Luke’s son Tex is four months old today.  He was born on Father’s Day.

The NY Post says Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow outfit from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies is one of this year’s hottest Halloween costumes. The costume has seen a 90% increase in sales since Depp won his defamation trial against Amber Heard. High quality replicas of the costume sell for as much as $399.

The List for Thursday, August 14th 2025

Welcome to The List,

"Hallmark is teaming up with the Grand Ole Opry for A Grand Ole Opry Christmas and yes, that’s a real title, not the name of your grandma’s holiday fruitcake. It’s dropping during Hallmark Channel’s 16th annual Countdown to Christmas, which means you can expect twinkly lights, cozy sweaters, and a predictable plot where love magically appears between snowfalls. And you’re gonna eat it up with a peppermint spoon."

-----

"Zach Top pulled off a gender reveal on stage the other night...well, kinda. A couple in the crowd handed him the results in a folded-up paper… but Zach opened it backwards and flashed the answer to the entire audience before the parents even saw it. So much for the big surprise now even the merch guy knows before Grandma."

-----

"Jerry Bruckheimer says he thinks he can lure Johnny Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow for Pirates of the Caribbean 6. And I don’t know what he’s offering, but I hope it involves rum, eyeliner, and an unlimited Sephora gift card. Because if Jack’s coming back, you know things are about to get weird, wobbly, and wildly quotable."

-----

"Diddy’s so-called ‘freak-off’ tapes might be hitting the market and industry insiders say it could be big money. Think Kim K, Paris Hilton… just add more lawsuits and fewer beach vacations. This isn’t just scandal it’s capitalism with better lighting."

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa's BEST Country KIX 101.1
