The List for Friday, August 12th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Pretty much every major event that occurs in the world happened, like, 20 years ago on an episode of “The Simpsons”.  And time after time, we’re left to wonder how they do that.  Well, the answer is coming this season.  “Simpsons” producers say, “We have another crazy conceptual episode that explains how ‘The Simpsons’ [knows] the future. Can’t wait? Me neither…Season 34 of “The Simpsons” kicks off Sunday, September 25th on Fox.

Blake Shelton shared a video of himself plowing his land in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.  He admits in the clip that it’s “too early to be planting food plots” . . . but that’s not stopping him.

—–

Travis Denning is marrying John Michael Montgomery’s daughter Madison, so it’s a big country wedding.  But she’s made it very clear there will be NO live performances . . . just a DJ.

—–

Reba McEntire shared the first trailer for her new Lifetime movie “The Hammer”, where she plays a no-nonsense judge.  The whole story is fiction, but her character is based on a real-life circuit judge in Nevada named Kim Wanker.  It’s set to air sometime next year.

—–

The latest news on Anne Heche is that she suffered a severe brain injury when she crashed her car into a house last week.  She’s not expected to survive.  Also, she was under the influence of cocaine and possibly fentanyl.

—–

Lisa Kudrow says she once ran into Jerry Seinfeld, and he took credit for the success of “Friends”.  Only because Friends was on AFTER “The Jerry Seinfeld” Show…wow…arrogant much?

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Monday, March 30th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Tiger Woods is back in the headlines after flipping his Land Rover in Florida trying to pass a truck with a trailer. The vehicle ended up on its side, he crawled out like it was no big deal, and somehow nobody was hurt. He blew a 0.00 on a breathalyzer but refused a blood test and was charged with DUI and property damage. So yeah, that “no alcohol” part isn’t exactly calming anyone down.

-----

Keith Urban is dealing with some awkward rumors linking him to younger Nashville singers, and apparently his daughters are not loving the headlines. Sources say it’s a bad look no matter what, because either he comes off like a womanizer or a guy striking out. Meanwhile, the women involved are flat-out denying everything.

-----

Country legend Charlie Daniels is making a return in hologram form for America’s 250th birthday celebration. The show is set for Fort Campbell and will feature performances from Aaron Tippin and others, along with a digital version of Charlie headlining. His son says it’s a dream come true, which is sweet… but also a little “we’re living in the future now.”

-----

Michael Jordan says he still dreams about making an NBA comeback… in his 60s. He told CBS that competitive fire never really leaves, and he’d love to pick up a basketball again at that level. Which is adorable, because most of us dream about getting off the couch without making a noise.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Friday, March 27th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Carrie Underwood says her boys can sing, but she is not handing out tiny little record deals just because Mom can hit a note. Her oldest is already a mini-Carrie, super into music, but she says the music business can wait until he is older and knows who he is. One minute Mom is on stage in sequins, next minute she is making dinner like nothing happened. Country queen by night, casserole ninja by six.

-----

Morgan Wallen says he is done hiding behind excuses, and that might be the most grown-up sentence he has ever said out loud. He told CMT that back then, there was always something to blame when things went sideways. Now he says if he messes up, it is on him. Accountability..

-----

Netflix just raised prices again, and at this point your streaming bill is starting to look like a car payment. The ad plan is now $8.99, standard is $19.99, and premium jumps to $26.99. Remember when cutting the cord was supposed to save money? Now we are all just paying cable prices with extra steps. Congrats, we played ourselves.

-----

The iHeartRadio Music Awards wrapped up last night, and if you are guessing who won everything, go ahead and say it with me. Taylor Swift. Again. Save everybody a few hours. Show up, wave, collect hardware, repeat.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
