The List for Friday, May 13th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Carly Pierce always associated playing the Grand Ole Opry with “Making It” and the day she got to PLAY the Opry?  “I felt like in that moment, that the Opry took a chance on me. I do feel like they kind of were one of the very first champions for me. And I meant it the day that I stepped on that stage, like I want to be a face of the Opry. I want to carry on that legacy.” Adding, that she didn’t have a song on the radio but they just believed in what she was doing… performing 75 times in five years, I think they know that by now…

The paparazzi found themselves in a precarious situation following Jason Momoa around Italy.  He’s there to film a new movie and they wouldn’t leave him alone while he was riding his motorcycle…so, he introduced them to some of his new tour guides….a group of Hells Angels…POOF, no more paparazzi.

Christopher Walken is going to star in the next Dune movie as Emperor Shaddam. The film is scheduled to be released on October 20th, 2023 and Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard is going to release his first solo single, ”5 Foot 9”, on May 20th.

TMZ reports Fast and the Furious star Ludacris celebrated graduating from Georgia State University by buying himself a new private jet. Because that’s what you do…The jet cost $20 million and has leather seats. And if you ever happen to see Alfonso Ribeiro in KIX Country don’t ask him to do “The Carlton Dance” tells ABC that he is done doing it so don’t ask…

Elle King topped the country music airplay chart with Miranda Lambert and their smash hit “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” Now Elle is following that up with a song with Dierks Bentley called “Worth A Shot.” Elle and Dierks debuted the track several weeks ago in front of a live audience at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. This is not the first time Elle and Dierks have joined forces musically…Elle was a part of Dierks’ 2016 number-one hit “Different For Girls.” Now in 2022, Elle King and Dierks Bentley are back singing together on “Worth A Shot.”

The List for Friday, September 19th 2025

Welcome to The List, and it’s brought to you by the Zearing Bar, right down on Main Street where friends and neighbors meet.

Parker McCollum may have just topped the list of “most country things ever.” He admitted he once rode a horse bareback… naked… and in Crocs. He says you only do it once, because, quote, “it ain’t that good.” Somewhere out there is a horse that’s still in therapy.

-----

Zach Top told People life on the road is moving way too fast. He says the hardest part is never waking up in the same town and always having to figure out where he is. He admits it makes him miss the simplicity of growing up in one place and you realize you’ve brushed your teeth in three different Waffle House bathrooms this week.”

-----

Glenn Close is 78 and apparently has a nude scene coming up in her next movie..her idea, by the way. She didn’t really explain why audiences need this, so allow me to speak for everyone when I say: Glenn, but please no…keep your Fatal Attraction clothed.

-----

Jimmy Kimmel might be looking to bail on his ABC contract, and word is he wants to guest star on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” before it ends. So… is he leaving late night, or just job-hopping like the rest of us?

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
