The List for Friday, March 18th 2022

Welcome to The List,

The Big 12 is in action in March Madness…and Brett Young Thinks Duke Is Going To Win ‘March Madness’ “I mean, born and raised a UCLA basketball fan. But over the past couple of years and I know they’re back and they’re better now but I’ve kind of lost interest, not lost interest, but I haven’t kept up as much as I’d like to with them. From what I’ve seen, I don’t know if they’re this good in the season, I don’t know how Duke doesn’t just dominate once we get into the playoffs, into the bracket.  There are a lot of great teams in college basketball right now, but if I had to bet on anybody it would be Duke hands down.”  You can catch the Iowa State Cyclones as they take on LSU tonight on Kix 101.1 coverage begins at 5:15.

Tyler Henry, is getting a lot of press lately he’s known as ‘The Hollywood Medium’, says his first prediction was the death of his grandmother. “Well, this all really started with me when I was only ten years old. I randomly one night just woke up and had this knowingness that my grandmother was going to pass away. So, it was really that catalyst that kicked off  the series of knowingness that kinda followed me throughout my life.” His series, ‘Life After Death;, is streaming now on Netflix.

Kelsea Ballerini tells TheSkimm.com that there are four items she always takes on tour. Her Throat Coat tea. She has a mug before and after she goes on stage. She needs her humidifier. Never leaves home without it. And her Skyn Iceland eye patches to keep her eyes from looking all puffy. Oh, and I one more thing her weighted blanket.  She can’t fall asleep without one anymore.”

 —-

Breland tells People magazine that he plans to take some time off and spend the weekend watching March Madness games and drinking wine with his friends. And the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is not going to honor Dolly Parton’s request to pull her nomination…of course if she gets the votes she could always pull a Garth Brooks and not accept the award.

We’ve always heard that Tom Cruise was one of the actors considered for the roll of Tony Stark for Marvels Iron Man…. well he tells the Indian Express Newspaper that it was true and he turned it down  Saying “It had to be done in a way that I know it’s gonna be something special. And it just didn’t feel to me like it was gonna work. I need to be able to make decisions and make the film as great as it can be, and it just didn’t go down that road that way.”  Sounds to ME he wanted it HIS way and THEY wanted it MARVELS way…

THOMAS RHETT’s album, “Where We Started”, is ready for pre-sale orders and if you DO that you’ll have the option of receiving a cassette with commentary from him about each song.  He’s going old school because the title of the album feels nostalgic. So, if you’re still driving a car with a cassette player and want to play some music here’s your chance. “When I think about a cassette, I think about being young.  I remember my mom taking me to the store to buy a Faith Hill cassette when I was like, six or seven.  “And with the album being called ‘Where We Started’, it’s kind of just a deep dive into looking back at your younger self, and cassettes are what I grew up with.” Thomas Rhett’s album “Where We Started” is out April 1st

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Tuesday, March 31st 2026

Welcome to The List,

Taylor Swift has officially entered her glittery legal era again. A Las Vegas performer says Taylor’s use of “The Life Of A Showgirl” is stomping all over her own brand, “Confessions of a Showgirl.” She’s suing for trademark infringement, wants damages, and an injunction too.

Only Kid Rock could turn a poolside salute into a military investigation. The Army says two Blackhawk helicopters near his Tennessee mansion were just on a Nashville training route, but now they’re checking into why they hovered there. Kid says nobody’s getting in trouble and called it pretty neat. Nothing says casual Tuesday like cannonballs, patriotism, and two black helicopters hovering near your house…

-----

Riley Green is stacking side quests like a pro. He’s making his TV debut on Marshals in mid-April. And because sleep is for other people, he’s also reportedly opening a second Duck Blind bar in Gatlinburg. At this point Riley’s building a country music cinematic universe.

-----

Thomas Rhett says one of his favorite parts of touring is trying wild new foods on the road, which sounds adventurous and expensive. Meanwhile Dylan Scott keeps it a little more backyard chaos at home, admitting he’ll wander into the kitchen at midnight and cook a full meal like it’s noon. His wife wakes up confused; he’s making dinner round two. That’s not a snack, that’s a second shift.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

OUR KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK, PIEREE!

He is about a two year old tabby who came to the ARL as a stray. He came in with an injury to his hip, but thankfully it was the serious and has fully healed. That's when the ARL staff realized Pierre is a cuddy bug who loves to snuggle. They believe he would be good with other cats too. Since Pierre is the KIX Critter his adoption fee is half off the regular price of $50, you can make him your couch buddy for $25.00!! More info
