The List for Monday December 6th 2021

Welcome to The List,

With Christmas just weeks away it’s only fair to ask some of your favorite country music stars questions about how they celebrate and some of their fondest memories. Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman talks about her family’s Christmas traditions. “We would go over to my grandmother’s house and have Christmas over there, and everybody would come home to Mama and Daddy’s house. We’d sit down and Mama hands out everybody a gift, and we act like we don’t what it is, but we do ’cause it’s always Christmas pajamas. So, everybody opens their Christmas pajamas and goes and puts ’em on, and we come back to the living room and we sit around Daddy and he reads The Christmas Story.” Sounds like fun…don’t know about the pajama’s though

And TJ from Brothers Osborne LOVES being a Christmas homebody “I think part of just holidays in general when mostly there’s nowhere to go, every place is shut down so you are forced to finally relax. You have to be a family and hang in this house..” I would have to agree…anytime you can relax and do nothing??  It’s a plus in MY book.

Disney animated “Encanto,” was the top movie over the weekend with “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” and “House of Gucci,” starring Lady Gaga, Adam Driver and Al Pacino all topping the box office over the weekend with Encanto making just over 12-million…

Variety magazine says Spider-Man star Tom Holland is going to portray Fred Astaire in a new movie about the dancer’s life. His latest Marvel film “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is scheduled to be in theaters December 17th

And to help you get into the spirit…Mr. and Mrs. Christmas Michael Bublé’s Christmas In The City airs tonight on NBC and Mariah Carey’s special is on Apple TV…her holiday gown needs SIX grown men to carry the train because she says it weighs 60 or 70 pounds.  You can watch for yourself “Mariah’s Christmas: The Magic Continues” is currently streaming on Apple TV

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Friday, February 6th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Starting off with some royal news, and surprise, it’s awkward again. Reports say things are allegedly tense between King Charles and Prince William. An insider claims there’s real anger on both sides, with William being described as controlled, strategic, and very aware that he’s the future king. Translation for the rest of us. Two strong personalities, one crown, zero compromise.

-----

The Super Bowl is fascinating because everyone watches it, but almost half of America claims they do not care who wins. A reported 47 percent of Americans have no opinion on the outcome. Among those who do care, more are pulling for the Seahawks than the Patriots. And me? I am rooting for a solid cheese dip and no commercials that make me cry.

-----

Luke Combs is sitting out the Madden Bowl concert ahead of the Super Bowl. Why? Because his wife is expecting their third child. Luke posted that family always comes first and apologized for missing the show. That is called priorities. And honestly, Dad mode beats Super Bowl mode every time.

-----

Jelly Roll is giving one of his Grammy Awards to the juvenile detention center where he once spent time. His wife Bunnie Xo says he wants to give the kids a little inspiration. That is not a publicity stunt. That is a full-circle moment. And possibly the most meaningful Grammy flex ever.

Catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
