The List for Tuesday, August 31st 2021

Welcome to The List,

If not for country music Thomas Rhett says he would have been on a completely different path. “I would probably have started a real estate company. I honestly thought about gettin’ my real estate license this year. I’m not kidding.  I love the whole art of goin’ in and getting somebody to really love a home enough to buy it. So, maybe in about 15 years that’s what I’ll do.” So, there are plans for AFTER country music..

Saving Country Music reports that 81-year-old outlaw country singer David Allen Coe is in the hospital and receiving oxygen and high doses of vitamins,  The legendary singer-songwriter also has an intravenous feeding tube, but he’s not intubated, and he’s reportedly been awake, alert and able to speak to his doctors. His condition is improving..

Alex Rodriguez allegedly wants a face-to-face meeting with Jennifer Lopez to divide up their joint business ventures. A source tells the Globe that  “There’s only so much they can delegate to the money people. The List for Thursday, February 5th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Rumors are flying that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have allegedly set a wedding date. A so-called source says the planning is “military-level precise,” which tracks, because Taylor hates surprises and Travis runs NFL playbooks for a living. Pop music, professional football, and Hollywood elite all in one room. Locked down, protected, unforgettable. Basically the most intense group project ever attempted.

-----

Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison is launching a new dating show for people who want a “traditional, marriage-minded partnership built on commitment and shared values.” Which apparently is now considered edgy programming. Somewhere, reality TV just gasped. This is not roses and drama. This is compatibility and emotional maturity.

-----

Before Luke Combs made it big, he had $200 left in his bank account. That money went toward mastering one song, “Hurricane.” He releases it, sells about 10,000 copies the first week, and uses the cash to finish the rest of the album. Then pitches it to labels. And that, kids, is how you bet on yourself and win.

-----

Toby Keith, Kenny Rogers, and Ed Harris are being inducted into the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The ceremony happens in April in Oklahoma City. They’re joining legends like George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Kurt Russell, and Burt Reynolds. That is a hall with serious swagger. Cowboy hats optional. Legends required.

Catch The List, with Jonathan Knight weekday afternoon at 4:20. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
