The List for Wednesday, July 14th 2021

Welcome to The List,

Miranda Lambert’s new son ‘Settling Down’ is climbing the charts but what inspired the song?  She says LIFE did…” um, I got married, but I also still love the road, I have a gypsy soul, and I wanted to write a song that kind of spoke to the sentiment of “can you have both?” and is that okay? I think the video just compliments the lyrics.”

Brad Paisley’s meets shark week in ‘Shark Country’ on Discovery channel last night…HE and comedian JB Smoove met in the Bahamas to attract new fans: sharks. With the help of Dr. Austin Gallagher, Brad’s musical talents are put to the test in shark-infested waters to see how sound can attract or repel sharks. JB Smoove was a little confused about what was about to happen

Brad – “We’re gonna go swim with sharks today,

JB – What!?  So, wait a minute we’re going out to Mark Cubans Yacht to pre pitch these ideas?

Brad – No….

JB – Somehow Brad something got mixed up here…

The List for Thursday, March 26th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Hookup shows come and go. Paychecks apparently stay forever. Taylor Frankie Paul will still get her full Bachelorette salary. TMZ says the payday lands in the low to mid six figures. The season got shelved after that viral domestic violence video resurfaced. Reality TV motto. Love fades. Direct deposit survives.

-----

Some guys jog. Some guys apparently brawl with neighbors. “Reacher” star Alan Ritchson reportedly got into a physical altercation. Sources say intense behavior is kind of his brand at this point. He doesn’t think he crossed a line. Neither does the authorities,

-----

Country star meets horsepower. This feels aggressively on brand. Darius Rucker is now a NASCAR Cup Series team owner. He invested in Legacy Motor Club which competes at the top level. From singing about wagons to literally owning fast cars. That is what we call career acceleration.

-----

If you like free music. Nashville just planned your summer. CMA Fest announced around 150 artists for daytime stages. Names include Ernest, Melissa Etheridge, Tucker Wetmore, more. The free shows run June fourth through seventh downtown. Wallet stays full. Voice will absolutely not.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Wednesday, March 25th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Ella Langley is getting ready to drop album number two. She says Dandelion will hit fans deeper than anything she’s done before. You can vibe casually… or go full lyric detective mode. She even compared the songwriting layers to Fleetwood Mac. Mark April tenth. Sad girl spring incoming.

-----

Reacher star Alan Ritchson just lived his own action scene. Police say he will not face charges after a street fight. Bodycam shows a neighbor approaching while he sat on his motorcycle. Things escalated and Alan reportedly defended himself pretty aggressively. Moral of the story. Do not poke action heroes.

-----

American Idol judges have some… very specific pre-show rituals. Lionel Richie takes a spoonful of olive oil. Yes really. Luke Bryan snacks on ranch and carrots like a chaotic toddler. Carrie Underwood crochets backstage to stay calm and focused. Somewhere Simon Cowell just rolled his eyes.

-----

The Yellowstone universe keeps getting bigger than a Montana sky. A new spin-off called Dutton Ranch is officially on the way. There’s talk fans might finally see Beth and Kayce reunite. Execs say scheduling two productions is the biggest challenge. Premiere date May fifteenth. Cancel your plans now.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
