The List for Monday, June 28th 2021

Welcome to The List,

With the 4th of July knockin on our front door…it must be cool for some who’s birthday’s FALL so close to the holiday.  It did for Blake Shelton anyway… “Fourth of July when I was a kid was extremely important, big deal to me because the fireworks stands, or we called them firecracker, they always opened about four or five days before my birthday, my birthday is June the 18th, so I got tons of fireworks for my birthday which I loved ”

Country Music Icon Willie Nelson talked to Jimmy Fallon about His new book “Letters To America” and WHY he decided to write it. “I thought it was a good idea and Turk Pipkin and I, the writer that helped me with the book, a great friend of mine we’ve done a lot of things in the past so I had a lot of fun with it.” Willie’s book, ‘Letters To America’, is a reminder to readers of the “endless promise and continuous obligations of all Americans will be available tomorrow

There’s a little drama brewing with James Corden that singing karaoke in a car isn’t going to fix anytime soon.  OK! Magazine reports that he’s upset that he wasn’t asked to replace Ellen DeGeneres.  “He figures he’s been doing this longer than Kelly Clarkson who IS in the running for the spot. His contract is up next August, and his bosses must know he’s been thinking about a move back to the U.K.”

Fans clamoring to see Liam Neeson’s new film The Ice Road may find themselves out of luck. The thriller officially dropped on Netflix on Friday, June 25, though some Netflix subscribers attempting to enjoy a movie night found that The Ice Road was not available for streaming. This is because the film is currently only available in the United States.  Even though he has said in the past that he wants to back away from so many action movies..it NEVER gets old.  “I enjoy them, you know, as long as the fights are kinda believable.  We just try to make it believable.”

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Thursday, February 5th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Rumors are flying that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have allegedly set a wedding date. A so-called source says the planning is “military-level precise,” which tracks, because Taylor hates surprises and Travis runs NFL playbooks for a living. Pop music, professional football, and Hollywood elite all in one room. Locked down, protected, unforgettable. Basically the most intense group project ever attempted.

-----

Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison is launching a new dating show for people who want a “traditional, marriage-minded partnership built on commitment and shared values.” Which apparently is now considered edgy programming. Somewhere, reality TV just gasped. This is not roses and drama. This is compatibility and emotional maturity.

-----

Before Luke Combs made it big, he had $200 left in his bank account. That money went toward mastering one song, “Hurricane.” He releases it, sells about 10,000 copies the first week, and uses the cash to finish the rest of the album. Then pitches it to labels. And that, kids, is how you bet on yourself and win.

-----

Toby Keith, Kenny Rogers, and Ed Harris are being inducted into the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The ceremony happens in April in Oklahoma City. They’re joining legends like George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Kurt Russell, and Burt Reynolds. That is a hall with serious swagger. Cowboy hats optional. Legends required.

Catch The List, with Jonathan Knight weekday afternoon at 4:20. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
