The List for Tuesday, January 12th 2021

Welcome to The List –

Beautiful Crazy, Luke Combs tells us the story behind the song. “I had just met Nichole, so I was super infatuated with her. The first line is her day starts with a coffee and ends with a wine…I still make her coffee every day in the morning. She has a glass of wine every night, I played it for her maybe a week after I wrote it, we weren’t even dating yet…so it was a risky move.”

Thomas Rhett and his cousin Jeff Worn recently started their own tequila company called Dos Primos. First what does Dos Primos mean and were did you come up with the idea? “So, Dos Primos means two cousins in Spanish, and we came up with this idea on a ski trip. Literally six months ago.” and Dos Primos was born..it’s available now…

HBO announced they are rebooting ”Sex and the City” without Kim Catrall. The Sun says Sarah and her co-stars are getting paid $1 million per episode for the Sex and the City reboot. Production is expected to start in New York City in May…Although can you call it a ‘reboot’ if it has all the same characters?

Deadline Hollywood says Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are going to play Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in a new Amazon Prime film called ”Being the Ricardos.” The film is set during the first week of production on ”I Love Lucy.” Aaron Sorkin is leading the project.

You can catch The List weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Thursday, February 5th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Rumors are flying that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have allegedly set a wedding date. A so-called source says the planning is “military-level precise,” which tracks, because Taylor hates surprises and Travis runs NFL playbooks for a living. Pop music, professional football, and Hollywood elite all in one room. Locked down, protected, unforgettable. Basically the most intense group project ever attempted.

-----

Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison is launching a new dating show for people who want a “traditional, marriage-minded partnership built on commitment and shared values.” Which apparently is now considered edgy programming. Somewhere, reality TV just gasped. This is not roses and drama. This is compatibility and emotional maturity.

-----

Before Luke Combs made it big, he had $200 left in his bank account. That money went toward mastering one song, “Hurricane.” He releases it, sells about 10,000 copies the first week, and uses the cash to finish the rest of the album. Then pitches it to labels. And that, kids, is how you bet on yourself and win.

-----

Toby Keith, Kenny Rogers, and Ed Harris are being inducted into the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The ceremony happens in April in Oklahoma City. They’re joining legends like George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Kurt Russell, and Burt Reynolds. That is a hall with serious swagger. Cowboy hats optional. Legends required.

Catch The List, with Jonathan Knight weekday afternoon at 4:20. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
