The List for Thursday, November 19th 2020

Welcome to The List –

While life has kinda slowed a bit because of the pandemic, what has Jon Pardi Been Doing While In Quarantine … “How I’m doing with social distancing? Well, I’ve got my country distancing, and I’ve been working on the land. I’m hanging in there. Trying to write music, watching TV, Netflix and stuff, so it’s been fun, getting back to my inner self, powering up the soul, know what I’m saying?”

Has the balance of power tipped on The Voice in Kelly’s favor? Blake Shelton thinks it has because between The Voice and her talk show, she is now on NBC 80 hours a week. Can’t dispute the logic….Blake just go with it…

Great news if your a Peanuts cartoon fan…The “Great Pumpkin” never showed on broadcast television this year, but after a deal with PBS, the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Christmas specials will. Last month, Apple TV+ became the new home to the Peanuts holiday specials. People were NOT happy about it, so Yesterday, Apple announced it had teamed up with PBS for ad-free broadcasts of “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” (on Nov. 22) and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (on Dec. 13).

Is there any truth to Matthew McConaughey running for Governor of Texas? He told Stephen Colbert NO, but had this to add, “I don’t get politics, politics seems to be a broken business. Politics needs to re-define it’s purpose, so, as I move forward in life, yes am I going to consider leadership roles where I can be most useful? I’d LOVE to I’m doing that regardless.”

Jimmy Fallon talks about the new at-home coronavirus test. “Well guys this is exciting the FDA has just given the greenlight to a new type of coronavirus test. Just in time for Christmas the ultimate stocking and nasal stuffer. I think you can tell how your marriage is going during quarantine by how deep your wife pushes the swab in…Honey! Honey! I don’t think it’s suppose to be a jabbing motion!”

The List for Tuesday, December 9th 2025

Welcome to The List,

Tom Cruise is allegedly still stunned and furious that Ana de Armas dumped him. A source says he “didn’t see it coming” and can’t wrap his head around the idea that she didn’t want him as a long-term partner. Now Ana’s out here laughing it up with Lewis Hamilton in the Ferrari garage — which stings even more because Lewis is friends with Tom.

Maddie & Tae are officially calling it quits after 15 years together. Tae says she’s stepping away to raise her kids, and Maddie is heading into her solo chapter. Country duos break up worse than boy bands. . From “Girl in a Country Song” to “Die from a Broken Heart,” they gave us the harmonies AND the therapy.

-----

Jason Aldean’s six-year-old daughter Navy lost her first tooth and not to the Tooth Fairy, but to a knee in the face during some vacation roughhousing. That’ll teach ya! One moment you’re having family fun, the next you’re spitting teeth like a tiny MMA fighter. At least the Tooth Fairy pays better than UFC.

-----

Golden Globe nominations dropped yesterday, and One Battle After Another and The White Lotus are leading the pack in movies and TV. The show airs January 11th on CBS. Soooo….get ready for another three-hour Hollywood party where everyone pretends to be surprised and the host makes at least one joke that gets them in trouble on Twitter.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
