The List for Monday April 27th 2020

America’s Got Talent’ Favorite Grandma Lee Has Passed away at a Florida nursing home at the age of 85. Lee, who appeared on season four of ‘America’s Got Talent, was a favorite of the audience and judges alike. Lee says she wants her ashes spread over a Krispy Kreme store so her daughters will actually visit her after she’s gone.

Actor Chris Pratt and his author wife Katherine Schwarzenegger are preparing to welcome their first child together, according to reports. The couple will mark their first wedding anniversary on June 8, and sources tell People.com that Pratt and his bride will have double the reason to celebrate. The child will Katherine’s first, while Pratt already shares son Jack, seven, with his former wife, Anna Farris.

NASCAR driver Ryan Newman said yesterday that he will return to racing when the season resumes after he was involved in a fiery crash during the last lap of the Daytona 500 in February. He was hospitalized for two days with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Newman announced his plan to return to the racetrack during the broadcast of the eNascar iRacing Pro Invitational Series at virtual Talladega Superspeedway. “That’s the absolute plan, for sure,” Newman said. “I’m healthy. I’ve been blessed with another layer of this situation giving me more time to heal and look forward to being back in the seat.”

Carly Pearce Says “I Hope You’re Happy Now” Is An Apology …Carly Pearce’s I hope you’re happy broke billboards top 40 list last week “What makes it so beautiful is this is my apology to this person. I actually was pretty emotional at first when I saw the artwork of the heart and listening to the song because I genuinely didn’t mean to hurt this person and I genuinely hope the best for them and I genuinely hope that they’re happy now. So I will never exploit their name or poke fun at them in the way that I did the guy that hurt me. But this is a genuine feeling that I think he probably knew would eventually come out in some way in my music, because that’s what we do as songwriters. And I feel like what I went through so many people go through and what Lee is singing about so many people go through.”

Tim McGraw wants your mom in his upcoming video.

According to a post on his official website, Tim is seeking clips of moms for use in a compilation video. The clips can be old videos, new videos, video calls, or—if your mom has passed—a video of you remembering your mom in a special way…to find out how you can be a part of celebrating moms with Tim McGraw –

“Moms are amazing! They love us, support us, and make us proud,” reads the website statement. “To show the world just how special moms really are, we’re making a video celebrating moms, and we need your help to be a part of it! All you have to do is send us video of you and your mom, and we might use it in our video!”

Video submissions are due by May 1.

The List for Thursday, August 14th 2025

Welcome to The List,

"Hallmark is teaming up with the Grand Ole Opry for A Grand Ole Opry Christmas and yes, that’s a real title, not the name of your grandma’s holiday fruitcake. It’s dropping during Hallmark Channel’s 16th annual Countdown to Christmas, which means you can expect twinkly lights, cozy sweaters, and a predictable plot where love magically appears between snowfalls. And you’re gonna eat it up with a peppermint spoon."

-----

"Zach Top pulled off a gender reveal on stage the other night...well, kinda. A couple in the crowd handed him the results in a folded-up paper… but Zach opened it backwards and flashed the answer to the entire audience before the parents even saw it. So much for the big surprise now even the merch guy knows before Grandma."

-----

"Jerry Bruckheimer says he thinks he can lure Johnny Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow for Pirates of the Caribbean 6. And I don’t know what he’s offering, but I hope it involves rum, eyeliner, and an unlimited Sephora gift card. Because if Jack’s coming back, you know things are about to get weird, wobbly, and wildly quotable."

-----

"Diddy’s so-called ‘freak-off’ tapes might be hitting the market and industry insiders say it could be big money. Think Kim K, Paris Hilton… just add more lawsuits and fewer beach vacations. This isn’t just scandal it’s capitalism with better lighting."

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa's BEST Country KIX 101.1
