In class 2A top ranked Grundy Center finished the game on an 11-2 run to hold off Unity Christian 49-45 as the Spartans improve to 23-0. Grundy Center coach Matt Lindamen was not surprised his team was tested.

The Spartans will next take on Cascade, which eliminated Dike New Hartford  52 to 43 last night.

Second seeded Center Point-Urbana jumped off to a quick start and West Marshall wasn’t able to catch up as the Stormin’ Pointers downed the Trojans 67 to 31 in the 3A Quarters of the girls state basketball tournament.

Ryley Goebel came off the bench or a game high 19 for Center Point-Urbana, while Kayla Cripps the only Trojan in double digits with 13.
