One of the big questions that local officials have been waiting on in regards to recovery following the July 19th tornado has been, “…when will we get some federal assistance?…”
Part of the answer came today (Wednesday). President Donald Trump has approved that a major disaster exists in Marshall County, along with Lee, Marion and Van Buren counties Those four counties are now eligible for funds for local government and certain non profit groups to help recoup some of the costs already associated with the tornado.
While the Public Assistance funds have been approved, the Trump Administration is continuing to review the request for federal dollars for individual help to those impacted by the disaster.
