The Marshalltown City Council on Monday got a chance to see the design for the police and fire station building at West Anson and South Second Streets from architects Prochaska and Associates out of Omaha. The two story building will be constructed of red brick and white aluminum and is designed to blend with the nearby Fisher Community Center and the YMCA and YWCA buildings according to architect Jim Classe. Council approved Story Construction Company to be the Construction Manger for the project targeted to be finished in December of 2018. Meanwhile Mark Boland Construction was awarded a bid to do some enhancement work to the MEGA 10 Park of Marshalltown at a price tag of 242-thousand-402 dollars.
