There is a scam going around in Central Iowa that includes the Iowa Department of Transportation.  People are receiving text messages that they owe on a parking ticket, speeding ticket, or something else driving related.  According to multiple Police Departments in Central Iowa, that message is fake.  Anyone who receives a message like this is asked to not click anything, respond, or share personal information.  The Iowa Department of Transportation will never text you to pay for a ticket.
