The City of Marshalltown will start their Spring Open Burning season on April 1st. Marshalltown Fire Chief Christopher Cross explains how that works.
Open Burning is allowed every day except on Holidays. People can burn on their own property but not on city sidewalks, streets, or others property without permission. Open Burning can start each day at 10am as long as the wind is below 15 mph.
People can find the full ordinance online at Marshalltown-ia.gov. The compost facility is set to open next weekend for the season.
