Marshalltown Street Superintendent Rick Legg says one way potholes form and grow is the suction between the road and tires with standing water. With the recent precipitation, the city has called for people to help them find all the potholes. Here is Public Works Director Heather Thomas.
Thomas reminds people that her team cannot canvass all of the roads each day, so this is where they rely on the public’s help to identify where all the potholes are.
Thomas urges people to call any potholes in and to not assume that someone else has called it in. That number is (641) 844-1888
