Last night at the Marshalltown City Council meeting, a Community Development Block Grant was discussed and eventually partnered with Jeff Ralston who owns Ralston Eco Homes.  Here is City Councilor Jeff Schneider.

Ralston has some experience building homes for with a similar grant in Atkins, IA.

At the City Council meeting, Ralston said the homes need to be under $175,000 but his goal would be to try and make them available for around $125,000, but it is all due to material and building costs. Here is Councilor Greg Nichols.

The homes are set to be built on preexisting lots within the north side of town. Ralston has committed to finishing the project in 30 months.
