City of Marshalltown’s Public Works Director Heather Thomas has talked about a few intersections recently as stop signs are being taken away or added. She first talks about the stop sign by the YMCA that was near the 2nd street railroad crossing that closed last summer.
Thomas says that is in the same group of stop signs that also talks about the intersection at 6th Street and Merle Hibbs Blvd. the council decided to move forward with changing that from a two way stop to a four way stop.
The four way stop at Merle Hibbs and 6th Street was brought to the council by a petition of concerned citizens.
