Last night was the final regular season game for the Marshalltown Bobcat basketball teams. The girls made quick work of the Des Moines Polar Bears as they get a running clock in the 2nd half for the second game in a row. They beat the Polar Bears 59-18 and are 13-9 on the season. They will face Des Moines Lincoln on Wednesday for their substate matchup.
The boys also finish the year with a big victory, the 3rd quarter was the Kyle Smith show as he hit 3 3-point shots to help the Bobcats pull away. In the fourth quarter, Smith hit a reverse layup to score his 1,000th point in his Bobcat career and 5th all time for scoring for the Bobcats. He finishes his career with exactly 1,000 regular season points. He is the programs all time leader in 3-point shots made with 221 in his career.
The Bobcats win the game 64-33. The boys will face Iowa City High on February 23rd.
