The State of Iowa requires cities to hold its own stand-alone meeting for a Public Hearing when potentially raising the property tax levy.  A special meeting is coming up on March 23^rd to talk about an increase in the city of Marshalltown’s portion of the levy.

That is Carol Webb, Marshalltown City Administrator.  She says the meeting will take place at 5pm before the regular council meeting on March 23^rd.

This meeting is open to any citizen in Marshalltown.  The meeting will take place in the City Council chambers, the 2^nd floor just above the Park and Recreation office at 10 W. State St.
