With the sudden loss of Marshall County Supervisor Kevin Goodman, there is a couple routes the County can take to fill that position.  The group of County Auditor, Treasurer, and Attorney met last week to discuss options.  County Auditor/Recorder Nan Benson shared with KFJB listeners yesterday their plan.

Whoever is appointed to the position would fill it for 2026 as there is a general election in November.  Then in November, whomever wins the election for Goodman’s position will finish the last 2 years of his term.

Benson would not show her hand on anyone they are considering for the appointment. To be considered you can apply.

Anyone with questions can reach out to the Auditor/Recorder Office.  The County has 40 days to fill the position, so by February 16th the appointment needs to be decided.  The goal is to have the person ready for the February 11th Supervisor meeting.
