Jake Arrieta struck out 10 in seven innings to lead the Cubs to a 5-0 win over St. Louis. The victory clinches the Cubs home field advantage through the NL playoffs. This was Chicago’s 98th victory, the most since they last played in the World Series in 1945. Arrieta allowed five hits and walked one to improve to 18-7. Anthony Rizzo had three hits and Ben Zobrist drove in two runs as the Cubs tied a team record with their 56th home win.
