The Friends of the Marshalltown Library had a big project to remove the houses on the Northwest corner of the Library block.  Marshalltown Library Director, Sarah Rosenblum, said the Friends of Marshalltown Library bought those houses before 2010.  She says there were a few different projects that used those houses between the city and habitat for humanity.

The first house was moved last week and it was quite the operation as a few different crews were on site watching the house move the opposite way down Linn Street.

Rosenblum says at the moment the Friends of the Marshalltown Library own those two lots

Rosenblum expect the next house to be moved in the next few days.
