Bringing Christmas Cheer to Families Who Need It Most
The holidays remind us of something powerful: even in the toughest times, everyone in the great state of Iowa shows up for one another. And once again this year, Iowa’s Best Country, KIX 101.1, is proud to team up with the
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 55 in Des Moines to make Christmas a little brighter for families across central Iowa.

It’s one of our favorite traditions, and it’s back: Helpful Elves.
For years, Helpful Elves has helped local families who have hit a rough patch due to illness, layoffs, accidents, unexpected bills, or simply life throwing them more than they can handle. Every December, your nominations help us find neighbors who could really use a lift, a smile, or a little holiday magic.
And we’re ready to do it again.

How It Works
We’re inviting you to share the story of someone you know who’s struggling this holiday season. It might be a friend, a coworker, a neighbor, or a family member. Maybe they’re doing everything right but still falling behind. Maybe this year knocked them off their feet. Maybe they just need to feel seen.
No matter the situation, if you believe they deserve a brighter Christmas, we want to hear about them.
Just click the button below to submit your Helpful Elves Letter. Tell us who they are, what they’re facing, and how a Helpful Elf wish could make a difference.

Helpful Elves Begins December 1st
Starting December 1st, listen every weekday afternoon around 1:20pm as Doris Day teams up with members of IBEW Local 55 to read your stories and grant Helpful Elf wishes live on Iowa’s Best Country, KIX 101.1.
