The Bobcats had upset on the mind as they took on the Top 15-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs at Leonard Cole Field. The Cats got off to a strong start, striking first with a field goal on their opening drive, but after holding strong on a 4th down, the Bobcats would fumble on their first play, and the Mustangs would rumble on home on defense to take the lead and never look back. Marshalltown had its opportunities, but a trio of turnovers and a lack of execution in some key moments had the Cats struggling to stay afloat. DC-G would run away with this one, taking home the 31-10 victory as the Cats found a late touchdown, finally finding the end zone. The Bobcats will now head back on the road as they’ll take on the Waterloo West Wahawks next Friday night.

In other local action Friday night, BCLUW took down AGWSR 17-14 as the Comets picked up their second win on the year. East Marshall ran into the buzz saw that is Wapsie Valley and got hammered 34-7 as they’ll close their regular season next week at home. In stark contrast, West Marshall ran wild on Interstate 35 as the Trojans took home the 43-0 shutout victory. They will also close out the regular season next week.
