3pm Update

As of the 3pm update yesterday there are now 54 cases of Legionnaire’s Disease in Marshall County.  There is a link to the 3pm update on the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services website at 1230kfjb.com.  Testing for Legionella bacteria in cooling towers, fountains, hot tubs, and other warm water sources can take multiple days so results will take time to be announced to the public.

Multiple people have echoed that it is safe to live life as normal in Marshalltown as this disease is not transmitted person to person.  Also, the drinking water has been tested by water works and that has come back negative for legionella.
