The List for Wednesday, February 5th 2025

Welcome to The List,

Super Bowl ads released yesterday include Matthew McConaughey and an all-star cast for Uber Eats, Paris Hilton shilling Frank’s Red Hot, and Matt Damon playing David Beckham’s long-lost brother.  I remember when you had to wait UNITL the Superbowl to see all the commercials.  I guess they’re betting viewership will be down, better get them out now!

Jelly Roll just got a job promotion on “American Idol”.  Last season he was a mentor, and now he’s been upgraded to the show’s first-ever “artist in residence”.

—–

Eric Church played in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am this weekend and finished middle-of-the-pack.  So, not too bad.  But the shot that’s going viral was when he almost HIT former NBA player Pau Gasol with his ball.  Eric joked, “If you can’t beat ’em, kill ’em.”

In Touch Weekly says Kevin Costner has allegedly been inspired by Jennifer Lopez to get in shape and bring back his heartthrob status.  Kevin is 70…good luck Kevin….

The List for Thursday, February 5th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Rumors are flying that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have allegedly set a wedding date. A so-called source says the planning is “military-level precise,” which tracks, because Taylor hates surprises and Travis runs NFL playbooks for a living. Pop music, professional football, and Hollywood elite all in one room. Locked down, protected, unforgettable. Basically the most intense group project ever attempted.

-----

Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison is launching a new dating show for people who want a “traditional, marriage-minded partnership built on commitment and shared values.” Which apparently is now considered edgy programming. Somewhere, reality TV just gasped. This is not roses and drama. This is compatibility and emotional maturity.

-----

Before Luke Combs made it big, he had $200 left in his bank account. That money went toward mastering one song, “Hurricane.” He releases it, sells about 10,000 copies the first week, and uses the cash to finish the rest of the album. Then pitches it to labels. And that, kids, is how you bet on yourself and win.

-----

Toby Keith, Kenny Rogers, and Ed Harris are being inducted into the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The ceremony happens in April in Oklahoma City. They’re joining legends like George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Kurt Russell, and Burt Reynolds. That is a hall with serious swagger. Cowboy hats optional. Legends required.

Catch The List, with Jonathan Knight weekday afternoon at 4:20. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
