JANUARY RECIPIENT:
Kim Hurley – 2nd Grade Teacher – Franklin Elementary School
NOMINATED BY:
Toshia Arends (co-worker)
TOSHIA’S LETTER:
I am a para at this school and I see this teacher, as well as all of the staff at this school, go above and beyond every day for the students. She definitely has her hands full with 2nd graders as attention spans are short, they talk constantly and out of turn and they like to see how much pressure a pencil can take before it breaks (among destroying other supplies she is constantly replacing). She is a very, calm, sweet, loving and caring woman with the patience of an angle for sure. And I believe she just deserves a little thank you.
Welcome to The List,
Tim McGraw made history this weekend, rocking the very first concert at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville. And it wasn’t just big for Iowa it was personal. McGraw told the crowd it would’ve been his dad Tug’s 81st birthday, then had everybody sing Happy Birthday to the late MLB pitcher. He posted later: “First ever concert, Tug’s birthday too… hard to top that, Iowa!”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce might be heading down the aisle… quietly. Word is they’re planning a small wedding with just close friends and family. The “wedding of the century,” but, you know chill. They’re engaged, still living in separate houses, and shopping for the perfect love nest. Oh, and Taylor might step back as godmother to Blake Lively’s kids thanks to some messy legal drama.
-----
Cue the wrestling theme music because Hulk Hogan’s $25 million fortune may spark a battle nastier than any match he ever fought. His kids, Brooke and Nick, could go head-to-head with wives and creditors in a legal smackdown. Insiders say it’s gonna be ugly, bitter, and drag on for years. So basically… Hulkamania, but in probate court.

Blake Shelton may have dropped a little shade on The Voice. While hyping his new CBS show The Road, he said it’s not just another stage where people sing cover songs. Nope it’s about the real grind: sleeping on buses, playing to crowds that didn’t buy tickets, and writing songs that might never pay the bills. Translation: welcome to country music boot camp.
You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
