The BEST disaster movies of all time have been listed in case you’ve been thinking about that lately!! The 1974 movie “The Towering Inferno” tops a list of the best disaster movies of all time.  It’s followed by “The Poseidon Adventure” and “Twister”.  The new sequel “Twisters” came in fourth.

A small fire delayed Kane Brown’s show at Fenway in Boston for 10 minutes over the weekend, but no one was hurt.  Fenway’s staff had some fun with it at the end, playing “We Didn’t Start the Fire” as fans were leaving.

Eddie Murphy tells the JoBlo Movie Network that he’d be up for “Beverly Hills Cop 5” because “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” is so good. “I hope so because this movie turned out so good, especially if you grew up watching the movie, then you’ll really, really love this new picture. Axel is the everyman.

It’s gotten so bad at the Billy Ray Cyrus house that  he’s allegedly hesitant to let Firerose retrieve her belongings from their home due to concerns she may take items that belong to him or his children. Firerose claims some of her possessions are missing and wants to search the house. A source tells the outlet, “Their split is becoming messier by the day.”

February Pack The Backpack Winner: Skyler Stevenson

The January Minuteman Printing & Graphics Pack the Backpack winner, is Skyler Stevenson – 9-12 Grade Agriculture Teacher @ East Marshall High School. She was nominated by Lonika Utterback, and here is what they wrote to Kix 101.1:

Ms. Steveson joined EMHS mid-year. She jumped right in and has been positive throughout her transition to a new school. She has been learning all of the student's names and the routines of the school. She has had to sort through a new classroom and curriculum. She had to make new lesson plans for 6 different agriculture classes all while being the FFA advisor as well. The students and staff have appreciated her greatly and are so thankful for her to have accepted this role. We would like to support her and help her adapt to EMHS as best we can!

Welcome to The List,

Megan Moroney just proved she’s either the nicest person in country music… or she has zero bedtime. She told fans at her Meet Me on Cloud 9 pop-up show she’d sign something for every single person there. And she actually did it. CDs, vinyl, whatever you had, Megan stayed until the job was done. Meanwhile, if one person asks me for directions at Target, I fake a phone call and walk away.

Jelly Roll just announced his brand new tour and the name alone deserves a standing ovation. It’s called the ‘Little Ass Shed Tour’. Yes, that’s real. He just finished the Big Ass Stadium Tour with Post Malone, so now he’s downsizing… slightly. These “sheds” still pack in 10 to 15 thousand fans a night. So congrats Jelly, you’re officially too big for arenas, but still emotionally attached to lawn seating.

Travis Kelce might be taking a pay cut if he plays another NFL season. He made 17 million last year, but reports say next year could be closer to 13 million. Which means he may have to tighten the budget a little. Maybe fewer vacations, fewer commercials, and only one diamond-covered cereal commercial instead of two. Thoughts and prayers during this difficult financial hardship.

Tom Hanks is officially playing Abraham Lincoln in a new movie, and apparently it’s personal. Ancestry.com says Hanks is actually Lincoln’s 16th cousin. The movie will mix live action and stop motion animation, which sounds like Lincoln meets Toy Story. If Tom Hanks shows up in a top hat and says “There’s a snake in my boot,” I’m buying tickets.

KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK Claire 2/24/2026

OUR KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK, CLAIRE!

Claire is a year old Border Collie mix who was found as a stray near the Laurel, Haverhill area.  She can be a little shy when you first meet her, but with a bit of patience and kindness, her true personality quickly comes through.

Once she feels comfortable, Claire blossoms into a loving cuddle bug who enjoys being close to her people and soaking up affection. She loves to run and stretch her legs, and her happy energy really shows in her great smile. Claire thrives on companionship and enjoys being included in daily activities, whether it’s playtime, walks, or relaxing together. She would do best in a home that understands her need for a gentle introduction and is willing to let her build confidence at her own pace.

Claire is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested, and microchipped, and she’s ready to find a forever home where she can feel safe, loved, and truly part of the family. Since Claire is the KIX Critter of the week her adoption fee is only $75!!! More info
